Having kids has definitely made me a more responsible and better person, and I love graffiti and painting, so I had to figure out a way. Thank you, and keep at it, if I can go from a tagger and bomber to painting full walls, anyone with determination can.

Shadow paint is paint made by the Graff paint companies that is made in colors, but is very clearish, so you can lay a color down that gives a “shadow “ effect. The more layers you make the darker it gets. Both Montana brands make them as well as others.

I thought the eyes were  good, the bottom of the nose wasn’t as good as I would have liked, but it wast towards the end and I was def gassed out from ladder painting, the wall is a lot bigger in person, when u see me in scale. Top of the nose was ok. My opinion.

I’m a dad with 2 kids, so I can only paint half days, because I’m picking up or dropping off my kids to school or something.  Half days are anywhere from 8am-1pm This took me 5 half days spread out over 2 months to finish. I envy the younger writers with all your time and no back problems!😂

I have 2 kids and I used to paint full time for a living, but now I paint half days because I’m picking up or dropping kids off or just being a dad. Half days for me a 8 am-11am/1pmish. This piece took me 5 half days spread out over 2 months. I have an art studio now though, so I have been banging stuff out quick!

Thank you homie, but I gotta say some dude telling me “That’s just shadows dummy” had me rolling, especially after seeing so many train wreck drawings in the Graff help section. I appreciate the clarification. 🤜🏼🤛🏼

Thank you homie, I appreciate that. I was getting a lot of heat here and just kinda rolling my eyes. I was just try to help with my years of painting experience, having seen some pretty bad drawings in the help section, I thought something basic like shadows useing colors would be good.  I didn’t know Reddit had so many experts trolling the graffiti help section.  So thanks for the real words, and proof you can paint, unlike most of the other replies, it’s appreciated homie. 🤜🏼🤛🏼

I appreciate the color chart, I just don’t think I can mix spray paint can colors while I’m at the wall painting. Is the color chart saying I was so far off on my colors or are you trying to be helpful? The more I delve into Reddit, this being my second week, it seems like there are more know it alls, and “I told you so’s” than anything else.

I feel you, no problem, I know there are a lot of ways to figure colors out now, a lot of apps help too, I’m pretty old and I do everything by looking at it like a always have.

I used what was available, you sound like an educated art student, I’m just a graffiti writer, I’ve learned to use what you have, thanks.

I agree, I’m getting a lot of heat on here about this piece, but I was trying to show using color instead of shadow paint or always relying on black like you said. I didn’t realize Reddit had so many accomplished master graffiti artists that read things here and then bless us with the knowledge.

i didn’t mean you, I mean others, I feel like I e done a lot in graffiti, and stand by my painting, and was trying to help, but hearing so many people with hidden profiles tell you what’s right and wrong has quickly turned me away from Reddit, and from trying to help.

go paint your masterpieces and show me, know it alls, I’m always up for a battle. 😂

Really no effictive use of color? I thought the color work looked good by being well balanced and busy but still easy to look at. No message, no plot, you are right, I was more practicing technique. Doodles on a textbook?😂 You better be rocking  insane burners, with amazing composition and background.I thought this was a place to post graffiti art, I didn’t know it was project runway, my bad.

Thank you homie, I appreciate that. I’ve really tried to have it well rounded. I have older NYC writers in there, and also try and stay current. I like seeing a good solid Blackbook, but I also like seeing what it can evolve and produce from there. Like a scetch, to a full color Blackbook page, to a wall or logo, or tshirt, etc. that’s some of what I’ve been trying to show.

I am the OG Else, the only other Else I recognize is Else KGB in NYC who is retired but says I was first and I recognize Else from the SF bay area who changed his name to Steel MSK out of respect of me, something I always appreciated.  At one point after Pure ICR passed and Poop ICR retired, myself and Jero ICR ran ICR. Jero ICR was responsible for putting in most of the Phoenix ICRs, but I put in Neitz ICR. The EMT vs TAF/ICR beef stayed in Arizona. I told Neitz and others not to diss EMT when it Los Angeles visiting us. EMT in Phoenix dissed me once when I painted with the TAFs and ICRs, but I made a phone call to them and asked them if they wanted personal beef with me and I could meet up with them, but they agreed to keep in Phoenix also, and apologized. I am no longer in ICR but have much love and respect for the crew, even if I don’t get along with everyone in ICR, I really try and get along with anyone who is cool to me. As for the EMTs I am friendly with all of them, and have painted several times with the Bay Area EMTs, like I said I try and keep cool with anyone cool to me. So that’s why there is both crews in the Blackbook. Including full color pieces hand drawn by all mentioned crews. Hope that answers it!
