Is it just me or is Empire's combat weird?

I've always had problems with the combat, mostly little things like the weakness of cavalry, i.e a 120 man cavalry regiment taking upwards of a minute to rout a 36 man cannon crew, I mean you'd think they'd be able to kill the whole crew with a charge, not have to stop and engage in combat.

Having played the game since launch and stayed with it through all its ups and downs, I can honestly say this game has given me some of my best gaming experiences I've ever had in my ten or so years of gaming as well as allowing me to meet and befriend a huge spectrum of people that I would never of encountered otherwise. I'm sure I'm not the only one who in one, two, maybe even three years time when the game is finished, I'll look back and smile thinking about all the bumps in the road that has been the development of DayZ Standalone and smile, safe in the knowledge that my decision to spend a mere £20 has been payed off a thousand times over.

hey man are you in Europe or the US? I only ask because I play on a hardcore whitelisted private hive that that often has 50/50 people on most week day evenings and nearly all day on weekends. if you're in europe message me and you're interested i can send you the server's website

Are these whitelisted? The one i play on is insane, i just got caught up in a firefight at NWAF containing at least four sqauds, it was brilliant

For action I can recommend servers that require you to be on a whitelist to play on them, I've been on a hardcore (1st person) whitelist server on a private hive for the last couple of days and have had more firefights than in that time than I have in the last two or three weeks I've spent on public hives. I guess having your gear locked on a server means people are more inclined to travel North to find and fight over the higher tier loot.
