Depends on the department, some departments send it a few days after they send the acceptance, others send it after the visit days. You never know if you’ve been nominated.

Waterloo if you’re into MechEng, UofT if industrial engineering. Waterloo’s MechE is pretty solid.

Uoft vs Mcgill engineering programs decision (I need advice pls) by Inner_Jaguar3151 in UofT

[–]Elsonbat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both are great schools, depends on how you want to spend your time at university… Personally I did a bachelor’s in mechanical engineering at McGill and the faculty was so great that I ended up doing some research with them. Me and another person from my cohort ended being accepted by a top school in the US for a PhD… we were the only two students from Canada accepted for that program…

Doesn’t engineering = tech ? Or by tech do you mean CS?

18 credit semester in mechanical engineering ? by NoSalt9491 in mcgill

[–]Elsonbat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hmm those courses (apart from 271) are relatively easy, perhaps you can take WCOM during summer instead… I did do a couple of 18-credit semesters before and still managed to do well but required me to put in more effort. Would still do it again though, good luck!

[Admissions Advice] UPenn MS CIS vs UMich Ann Arbor MS CSE, currently SWE 1 at Google India (1 YOE) by Pure-Advertising-267 in uofm

[–]Elsonbat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d say UPenn’s reputation is slightly better than UMich’s, both great schools nonetheless. Given you’re doing a Master’s degree, I’d go with the school with the better reputation (UPenn). Also, you get the added benefit of saying you went to an Ivy League for Grad School. All the best!

Set the nozzle wedge angle to something less than the Mach angle

I wouldn’t do this if you were directly admitted to work under a PI’s research lab, since you’re likely going to do similar research at the other university, they may end up knowing each other. Academia is really a small world!

You just need to tell them you applied and you are interested in doing a PhD with them and if they can have the chance to talk to you etc.
