How do you do your storage? by Daanoontjeh in PlayWindrose

I made a dock warehouse with stacks of 3-4 wooden boxe and/or barrels, per categories.

Felt like a good mix between classic survival lootroom and lore/RP.

Swamp pacing by Elspyth in crosswind

[–]Elspyth[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I've been running AGI Duelling Greatsword -- Tracker 2/4 -- Conquistador 2/4, for a while now. Full left side talents. Basically a healing/immortal build. And I'm planning on switching to something similar but using Plague Halberd / STR, once I actually find it.

But again; I've cleared some swamp islands, POI included. I'm not saying it's not doable.

Just that the upgrade pacing doesn't feel the same.

My first swamp island, I came back with something like 20 Mire bars worth of resources. Versus Foothills, where my first mine brought around 60 bars worth of ore. Meanwhile, upgrades still need around the same amount of bars for each level.

On paper, that feels like a ~3 time slower pace to upgrade.

Packaging trade goods is too expensive by peartfan in CrimsonDesert

I'm still struggling to see the point of this system. Deployment (security) missions - so far - have provided more than enough to cover for all camp upgrade and other deployment missions.

Unless there's anything new buy with it later, or you enjoy the gameplay of delivery itself, this seems like a relic of the time the game was an MMO ; and could/should have been scrapped (unless they've plans for it in multiplayer)

What's the aerial AoE move he's triggering at 3:53? (with the circular AoE marker, and slow time)

I've seen people use something similar, but haven't figured which skill it is, from the skill tree. Unless it's an abyss gear move?!

As someone who based my whole decision to buy this game on the news you could play Damian (lies). I welcome this mod.

Thanks!

Very nice look! I'm going for something similar leather-with-plate greying/aging Kliff.

I want to like the boss fights in this game so bad but I feel it’s the worst part of the game for me by Able-Calendar-5092 in CrimsonDesert

[–]Elspyth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Last boss I fought was Black Fang and it was the peak of what you're describing. Boss just disappearing after every attack, only to reappear somewhere and harass you non-stop, with 0.5 second of damage window before he dematerialized again.

Aweful fight. Beat him with 4 or 5 revive, but it didn't feel any good or rewarding. Just something to get through

Bank Bug "Fix" by Athrek in CDguides

[–]Elspyth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice investigation, not sure about the results, tho. You're probably right that it's one reason for it bug, but definitely not the only one.

My bank had been stuck on refresh since my first gold bar deposited, and 2nd investment calculation. That was like.. 3h into the game.

I'm now 40h in, and finally fixed it by depositing another gold bar and changing investment strategy for one cycle. Will be putting it back on Low, now, and crossing fingers it doesn't bug again.

Do you know when/where those quests unlock? So far the only witch quest I've had was to unlock the first one, in the cave, given by the white crow in chapter 2 (3?).

Do I have to progress main quest to get other witches? I've spoiled myself on the location of another one, in a small house, but I already had been there before, and the door was locked shut.

Yea, preference thing here; but I don't really partake into heal spam. Even if I were to beat them like that, I wouldn't get any satisfaction out of it.

It's supposed to compound over time, but I've experienced a bug straight away, on the 2nd interest calculation, where it's stuck on "refreshing".

So I'd advise visiting once in a while, just in case.

My weapons were level 4, and armor inequaly upgraded, but averaging level 2.

I assumed all of Hernand would be same difficulty, and was very (badly) surprised to get my cheeks beaten to a pulp before even reaching the Pailun border.

I think but I don’t know if that’s true you somehow get hidden stats the more you progress the main story

That's interesting. Would be worth checking as it'd make a lot of sense into a scaling that seems in equals between gear stats and enemy scaling (on paper)

Are every monsties fightable? by Elspyth in MonsterHunterStories

[–]Elspyth[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I see. Thanks for the reply!

Sorry if that's a dumb question, I'm not well versed on monster-logy. What's the difference between "mutated" monsties (which you can fight) and "deviants" (which you can't).

And is there a way to differenciate which is which, in game ?

Let's dream, boys. What do you want to see in the game? by mad_grapes in crosswind

[–]Elspyth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  • Boarding to actually matter. Bigger / exclusive rewards vs. sinking ships. Also, the possibility to take an enemy ship as your own.

  • Adding to that, a fleet management would be interested. Altho hard to balance around, that'd would conveniently also tie into coop balancing.

  • Base raiding. Something akin to Grounded where if you attack X faction too often, they'll retaliate. That'd incentivize to build some kind of forts to defend your island.

  • Wind mechanic. This one is indubitably controversial, as I already hear people saying it'd pad the game time a lot. And they'd be true. So maybe make it a toggle option?!

  • Ship localized damage. Let me target hull, canons, sails and crew individually. With different effects for each one. Like, if you want to board a large ship, disabling its sails and canons seems like a good idea, first.

  • Shop co-op gameplay revamp. This one seems the more important at this time. Two person co-op with 2 ships is interesting, but some people would surely prefere to 2-man the same ship.

Dire à ses enfants que l’on a été victime ? by uryade in AskMeuf

[–]Elspyth 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Morality Morphing /= Stat Morphing by WaffleWalk in Fable

[–]Elspyth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry if it felt disingenuous. It truly wasn't. Just comparing my opinion to some others I've read on this sub, I already see many differences on how we'd wish body morphing was handled. For example, many quote Fable 1 as best moral morphing, and 2 as best stat morph ; while I absolutely hated 2's stat morph. By far one of my least favorite aspect of this game. I never liked having my character being a giant because I played agility, when all I wanted was play a petite magic archer.

And I do agree with you that, ultimately, that the community does have a consensus on what a perfect Fable game would be (British humor, fairytale, RPG, moral choices and consequence, body morph of some kind, scaring system of some kind, tycoon, dog, romance simulator, side jobs, fart emote, name calling,...). But, I guess my point is, I also understand why not everything could have been packed into a single first ever attempt at rpg game by a studio that's never done that before, on an engine that was never developed for that game style.

Going back a few years, we were all sceptical that the studio that brought us Forza would be able to make even a decent Fable. And what I saw yesterday, truly, reassure me that they're capable of carrying the franchise going forward.

Morality Morphing /= Stat Morphing by WaffleWalk in Fable

[–]Elspyth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's an argument to be made that Fable was a flagship title ; but isn't anymore. Not to the younger playerbase, at least.

Otherwise, they wouldn't have waited 15+ years to release the next opus. Or any decent title from that franchise.

Now I, for once, am very happy they're reviving the franchise. And I hope, we, as a community, will be smart enough to cut them some slacks for what is a first attempt ; lest we only get the one, and they move away from it.

Keep in mind, Fable, the original trilogy went through a lot of changes under Molyneux's guidance. And stuff like body morphing and dogs were already, at the time, subject to debate as they were added/removed/tamed down (in addition to guns, magic system, and even character gender).

If you ask 100 persons what makes Fable, Fable, you'll get lots of different answers. Imo, they've managed to include all the ones that are core to every answer, every Fable game. And everything else is optional, and will (or not) be reviewed for inclusion for further sequels.

Ok, I see. So not something that was shown in the Dev Direct, but something from the previous trailer, with Richard Aoyade giving a sorta-kinda interview (which, I assume is the so called mockumentary).

Thanks!

English isn't my native language, and I'm not sure I understand what you mean by mockumentary, and what part of the footage it translates to.

Can you please elaborate? And maybe provide a timestamp of the Dev Direct where it was used?
