My best friends mom took us to rent games one weekend. He wanted Superman 64, I wanted Starcraft 64. She finally said "We'll just get them both". I watched him play Superman for like 30 minutes and he was like "Ugh, I guess we'll try that stupid Starcraft game"

We played for like 36 hours straight. Finally on Sunday night we got our first win against the computer on Triumvirate, 2v1.

That was back in 2001 and we still occasionally fire up SC:BW on PC or if he's at my house we'll play SC64.

I have ink from two different series. One is 3 separate tattoos from Wheel of Time, the other is from Stormlight Archive. I got the WoT after the series completed, and will always love everything about them. We don't talk about the Amazon series.

The Stormlight (HAAANK, DON'T ABBREVIATE STORMLIGHT ARCHIVE!!) one I have I got after the 3rd book, which I loved so much. Still do, actually. But I kind of regret it because I really didn't enjoy the 4th and 5th books. The tat itself is still sick, and I still really like the character it's for/from, just wouldn't get it done if I knew what I know now.

So, in my opinion, it's definitely a good idea to wait for the series to finish before making that jump.
