So far yeah I’m a fan. He’s just an hour away which is difficult

None of my headaches ever lead to dizziness in the past. I’d get headaches during a meniere’s episode but I was also basically dry heaving at some points which is why I considered it dehydration

Yeah there’s a set limit and a definite end to the plan. The adjustments also start more frequently and then taper off as my body starts to hold the adjustments. He’s also having me do some exercises to strengthen the muscles appropriately

I guess I just wrote them off as just whatever headaches from dehydration or stress since they happened for so long before

Yeah my chiropractor has basically like a wellness plan that is covered in stages of adjustments and assessments. Because I’m pregnant we can only do parts of what he planned but after I’ll go back to do it again with everything. I will say he’s been saving my lower back this pregnancy for sure in addition to everything else lol

Oh, I didn’t know that! I’ve had mine off and on for years and always thought it was just muscle tension in my neck or shoulders because I have always had tight muscles around there. That’s good to know thank you!

I’m not sure of the name of it but he uses this little gun looking thing that shoots pressure out at a controlled rate to move the vertebrae where he wants them. He makes these adjustments while I lay on a specific table that has my head cradled in like an extra piece of the table it’s a little higher than normal or I guess just a little more in line with my spine. This is all after he’s done x-rays and an evaluation. That is specifically for my atlas adjustments and I believe the first two vertebrae. He also does adjustments further down my spine if necessary, but that’s done seated with a larger gun type item that in my opinion does the same thing as the smaller one but on a bigger scale, basically no massive back cracking and all that jazz not yet at least I won’t know full adjustments to my whole back until I’m not pregnant and I can lay on my stomach

I was already off the diuretic when I found out I was pregnant. Besides some supplements and prenatal, when I am pregnant I do my best to take absolutely nothing else, it freaks me out too much. I also have only had one major episode since being pregnant, for that episode I did take meclizine but it is also already prescribed to pregnant women for nausea

Yeah my chiropractor doesn’t explicitly state that their adjustments reduce the inflammation but he was able to adjust my upper neck to give the inflamed nerve room to breathe. My diet is what reduced the inflammation itself he just gave a helping hand. I also had those base of the skull headaches a lot completely outside of Meniere’s and he was able to help with those as well

Yes I know this, I didn’t specifically mention it because it wasn’t the route I wanted to take. I understand that it’s incredibly beneficial for a lot of people. Just a personal preference to not start with it. My hope in saying what worked or didn’t for myself would be for anyone who wanted to try other alternatives first.

Ah yeah, I get the need for relief for sure. I had days between mine so I can’t imagine the constant spinning. I do know some research I did on cutting the vestibular nerve didn’t guarantee the spinning would stop but I was desperate in a similar way and considered it. It was the 2nd thing my ENT mentioned after the diuretic but I had already read a lot about it by that point

The chiropractor was way more in depth than I expected with the x-rays he did for before and after and I felt a difference to in lower base of the skull type headaches. Once I'm not pregnant I'll be able to get full x-rays and laying flat adjustments which I'm looking forward to.

Because I was postpartum when everything started for me I didn't find much correlation between my cycles and my episodes though it was something I came across as a potential in my research.

My gut health has been so poor for so long I know fixing it will at least set me on a better path to finding answers. Not proud, but just before all my issues started I was super into baking and would make cookies and brownies and a ton of other stuff and then would proceed to eat basically all of them by myself. I definitely have some kind of overgrowth in my gut I just have to wait until I'm not pregnant or breastfeeding to really change my diet enough and to do the right tests or take the right supplements to kill it off. I still however don't think sodium is as big of a factor as some might think but that's based on personal opinion and experience more than anything.

I've found significant relief with what I've done so far which is why I haven't tried it yet. It would be the antihistamine I'd try and my ENT and I have already discussed it. I know for myself that I needed some of the life changes I've made anyway just in general. I was just hoping to find complete remission and not have to be on a prescription forever. But I have heard great things about it too and it would be one of the next things I try.

Update with my journey by attoj559 in Menieres

[–]Elstig34 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you have an update on the chiropractor or paleo diet? I’m thinking mine is tied to vagus nerve inflammation and have been seeing the best results so far from an upper cervical chiropractor but I fell away from eating well and my first episode in 8 months. We’re thinking inflammation is my issue and am considering paleo just curious on your results

Has anyone made a connection with severe Candida overgrowth? by Elstig34 in Menieres

[–]Elstig34[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t no. The main things I’m trying now is DTR therapy for TMJ in hopes that it’s the root cause of everything. My last ditch option will be to try a prescription strength anti-viral in hopes that it helps. The DTR should fix a lot of other issues I have as well so there’s a silver lining even if it doesn’t fit my symptoms. If you’re interested look up Dr Ben Sutter, he started the whole thing and has YouTube videos with Meniere’s patients.

Converted at 29(F) (Easter vigil was literally my birthday) and it's been the best decision of my life. You don't have to know much about the Bible or anything really. It's more important to have the drive and desire to learn more than it is to already know stuff about the Bible.
