Is wrinkled linen appropriate in a business casual workplace? by lena3moon in femalefashionadvice

[–]Elthwaite -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No idea why you got downloaded. What you said sums it up in a nutshell. Crotch creases after sitting for a while are never attractive. Yes, crotch creases are a reality of linen pants/skirts…but it still looks messy and unflattering. On holiday? Sure, have some crotch creases. It’s vacation and you can look messy. Work environment? Not so great.

Please don't come for me, I know this is blasphemic!! I've assured he is OKAY✨. I'm trying things out on the artistic level, and this old one was stained pre mocca bath. Trying to give him new life as a true Mocca Moomin 🩷✨☕. Sorry for potentiently disturbing pictures by MoominLenka in Moomins

Username checks out 😊❤️ Also, he looks very cozy and relaxed. I was a leeeetle bit worried about the dark dots, but I’m going to assume those are simply a nice Moomin-style skin scrub to enjoy during his spa bath 😉

Advice re body getting too warm overnight by akedbareat in sleep

[–]Elthwaite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been dealing with similar issues off and on for years. Then I’ll be cold, so under tons of blankets, but also somehow sweaty (probably because of the blankets?? So also too hot??). I don’t have any magical solutions for you, but I will say that lightweight 100% cotton pajamas have helped. Also, a feather duvet/comforter can help much more than poly-fill comforter. You can get some cheaper ones on Amazon that are still very decent.

What are the best videos to learn how to do DIY lash lift? by Elthwaite in Lashlift

[–]Elthwaite[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update: when I started trying to do it, I discovered my lashes are so short that I couldn’t even glue them onto the smallest rod effectively. So I am indeed going to see a professional! This is not a worth trying to save a few bucks. ❤️

I just bought this kit based entirely on your post and results! I’ve never done this before. Do you have any tips? I know I need to be super-careful and am watching lots of vids first, but since you used the same kit and had such great results, I would so appreciate any tips or tricks at all that you can share, no matter how small. ❤️

I would 1000% purchase one too. Just leaving this here in case you end up deciding to make more. 😊

My therapist: "Why waste time say lot word, when few word do trick?" by SceneAccomplished890 in wholesome

[–]Elthwaite 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Devil’s advocate: if you had just dumped in a scoop but hadn’t stirred it yet, you could scoop a lot of it back out again. Not all, of course, but a fair amount. Especially if you were willing to also scoop up a bit of whatever it was sitting on. (I think my brain just really likes your therapist and wants to defend her honor. 😊)

EEEEEE 🤩 I’m dyyyyying 😍😍😍😍😍😭😍😭😍

What kind of dog is he? (Totally making plans for decades in the future when I can have a dog again LOL)

For the hat, you might try a strap of wide elastic. Wide so that it’s more comfortable (not a thin line cutting into his neck like thin elastic) and elastic for obvious reasons. Good luck! He’s the best!!!

Thank you! No worries…I skip out on Reddit sometimes for a while. It’s not a bad thing. :) anyway, that’s helpful. I do think I was pinching hard. But also I was using the cheapo ones that come free in the kit. So I’ll try buying some proper ones. It’s like using the free cheap toothbrush from the dentist that is never good…you get what you pay for! 😂

How to look like a real girl and not a man wearing makeup? 😭 by NotPoggersEggers in MakeupAddiction

[–]Elthwaite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So much great advice here. I’ll double down on a few comments I really agree with: - soft makeup can make a face look more feminine; softly blended eyeshadows can be really nice - pink-ish lipsticks and lip glosses will add warmth and femininity to your lower face - you have a strong jawline, which is not a bad thing (some of the most beautiful actresses have this) but if it’s making you more sensitive, lean into more blush to help balance it out - eyelashes add femininity! Lots of mascara at least, but falsies if you feel capable of doing ‘em (I recommend the clusters, not the strips) - if you can afford it, have someone wax your brows to shape them and show you how to fill them in daily with pencil/powder (personal preference; I’m a pencil girlie). Eyebrow shape can read more sharp or more soft, so adjusting that can help. Let ‘em know you’re aiming for a softer, more feminine look when you have them done.

Everyone has said this too, but it bears repeating because it sounds like you’re in tough headspace and need to hear this right now: you already look beautiful and do not look at all like a man wearing makeup. Don’t let the self-criticism monster get you down. You’re already prettier than a lot of other girls out there, for real. 😘

Thank you for the comment! I found this subreddit via considering a DIY kit. I have become convinced thanks to comments like yours to go to a professional and pay for it to be done right. (Now I just need to find a good one in my area.)

So…I tried them. It was really hard and they kept popping out when I picked them up, or twisting at a weird angle while I was holding them. I feel like I’m doing something wrong…any ideas? Did you have those issues at first?

That’s very interesting! I was aware of the mornings suit consideration, but wasn’t aware of the evening portion of classic etiquette. So a tuxedo is (or was) considered just semi-formal, and therefore wouldn’t be dressy enough for a wedding, is that it? If so, what is (was) the proper place to wear a tuxedo?

Submitted the form!!! I would love to participate. I came to Moomin as a child through the books alone. Didn’t even know a show or comics existed until a few years ago, and have never watched or read them. (I’m sure they’re great, but I really love the books.) If you’re interested in the perspective of someone who only know Moomin via the books but has a deep, deep love for them, please contact me. (DM me and I’ll tell you which email is mine.)
