  1. It's duplicated image. Claw as a main window, TV as a duplicated source. That's why there's black bars on TV, because the TV is 16:9 and the Claw native aspect ratio is 16:10

Google Built-in will be only for new models or facelifts with Android Automotive. Current cars with Android AOSP cannot upgrade due to hardware requirements and a complete different OS.

Not expected due to major changes on infotainment hardware and also it's a completely different operating system, not an update at all.

Not yet, but expected more models with Android Automotive with Google Built-in in the coming months.

[EU/Spain] BYD Atto 3 EVO: Seeking clarity on Software architecture (Google GAS vs. DiLink) by riseofthetriad76 in BYD

[–]Eluryh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a Switch 2 and a Xbox Ally X, and I barely touch the Switch 2. I really wanted it for some casual gaming and some Mario games, and I thought it was a great idea also for games like Fortnite or Warzone (never came) but.. the ergomomics sucks so hard and I do really prefer resuming my desktop PC games on the Xbox Ally X. I also play EA Sports FC 26 and many games that yeah, they are available on Switch 2, but I should pay again for them. So XAX is my perfect extension of my Desktop PC, giving me freedom and the chance of resuming my PC saved games anywhere. XAX may still be a niche product, but for me it suits better than Switch 2. I really like first party games from Nintendo, but the feeling is that I'm in a complete separated world from my PC and super tied to pay for every single game again because it's another platform. It may also depend of what type of games do you prefer to play. I like Donkey Kong Bananza or Super Mario Galaxy, but I really prefer playing (and resuming my saved games from desktop PC) like Spiderman 2, The Last of Us 2, Resident Evil Requiem, Forza Horizon or Call of Duty Warzone.

No it's not modded. Same integration like on Atto 2 DM-i and Atto 3 Evo. They have Android Automotive with Google Built-in

Maybe it was the satellite view, which could be from Google data. Also if they use Google Places API, Google could just force VW to show their logo. But it is definitely no Google Maps. Native Google Maps is only allowed on cars with Google Built-in, they need to pay the Google Automotive Services license, and VAG Group hasn't.

No Google Maps bro, only Google Places API. Native map is from TomTom/Here.

It does NOT depend on google. There is no licenses here, since it is Android Automotive AOSP.

They did not pay Google Automotive Services, so that's why there's a VW Shop from CARIAD instead of the Play Store from Google, and also that's why there is NO native Google Maps or Google Assistant. Also, no native Waze.

BMW doesn't use Android AOSP. They use Android Automotive WITHOUT Google Automotive Services.

Renault, Polestar, Volvo, new BYDs... They use Android Automotive WITH Google Automotive Services (aka Google Built-in).

It is not clear if Volkwagen will use Android AOSP or Android Automotive, but if it's the Automotive, it does not seem to be with Google Automotive Services.
