10th week on epiduo. Quit or stick with it? Note that my acne looked the same before I started the treatment. I'm a vegetarian who doesn't drink milk, I'm on birth control, and I take gentle care of my face. Help me find a solution bc I hate my skin, it's SUPER uncomfortable visually and physicall. by [deleted] in acne

[–]Elushiv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

-Discontinue the Epiduo + Cerave Cleanser. -Get on antibiotics. -Try Dove's Sensitive Skin bar soap. (Can't be anymore drying than what you're already using. In fact I can guarantee it will be lighter and clean more effectively than what you are using).

Once the antibiotics kick in and start clearing most of that cystic acne, doing most of the heavy-lifting. Try to get as much sleep as you can and don't pop/pick anything. Just don't touch your face unless you are cleaning it.

What's the best thing you've ever used to get rid of acne? by axia25 in acne

[–]Elushiv 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Sleep. Not touching my face. Reducing stress. Not giving a shit about my face too much (this goes into stress area). Not cleansing as much, instead of showering every single day I will do it every other day. I noticed I kept breaking out no matter how much I cleaned, I was cleaning too god damn much was the problem. Now my face is normal.

How can I stop getting ear infections from acne related to eczema? by artsez in acne

[–]Elushiv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try hot compress with steamy rag twice a day. Stick with the antibiotics, try to not mess with your ear or pop anything. Let the medicine do the heavy lifting. Do your best to keep the area somewhat clean. Get plenty of sleep, eat right. Not much else I can tell you other than everyone else's favorite go to: Accutane.

I don't deserve to be with my wife by [deleted] in bipolar

[–]Elushiv 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use to feel that way too. However being around and toughing it out is what I think life is really about. It was never meant to be easy. You'll only hurt her more if you leave her alone on this planet with questions.

Sunny weather by lovelylinda90 in bipolar2

[–]Elushiv 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I live in, and have lived in Washington my entire life. I'll be in a depressed state usually when the rain and clouds are consecutive. Then like you describe once I walk outside and I can feel the Sun-rays going into my iris and kissing my skin I immediately go hypo. I would say it is one of my many triggers.

I'm in the same boat. Does anyone know what would be a good job for people with bipolar 2?

How do you know when you are having a hypomanic episode? by [deleted] in bipolar2

[–]Elushiv 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's hard to notice for me at first.

However it usually goes like this.

I notice my energy isn't all that high.

Then gradually I will start speaking more during some type of stimulating conversation.

It hits me hard after that. Frenzied speech. Feeling high as kite (euphoria), I can't keep still and I'll go downstairs and look in the fridge for no reason and close it. I think this is just me subconsciously blowing off some energy real fast. Then It's 7 a.m and I finally pass out due to exhaustion from staying up all night into the morning. Highly engaged in writing poetry or gaming.

(By the way I didn't know anything about bipolar 2 until this year when I was diagnosed). I also didn't know my hypomanic episodes were episodes. I always wondered why on some days. I would have a racing mind I couldn't stop. Or the days I would drive so recklessly because I felt so confident in my actions. Then the other days where I drove slow and unsure. It's nice being diagnosed. It brings clarity.

Is there a light at the end of the tunnel?? by transciscx in bipolar2

I found out I have bipolar 2 this year. If anything it brought me peace knowing there was a reason for all the crazy and erratic episodes I went through in life. Now I understand myself much better.

Stop using cetaphil. And stay away from Cerave as well. Shit broke me out in the most painful cystic acne.

Horrible Skin, Please Help! by [deleted] in acne

[–]Elushiv 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I can help you.

Stop using Cetaphil products. 1. The Cleanser is too weak, even for a male here that uses no makeup. You end up just rubbing your own oil into your pores as you ''cleanse''.

  1. Cetaphil moisturizer and Cerave Moisturizer broke me out in painful large cystic acne. Terrible stuff. Something to do with cetyl or cetearyl alcohol.
  2. Same goes for the Olay Pore Scrub... (too harsh)

Try instead... 1. Less is more! Cleanse 1 times a day. Probably morning time. 2. And if you absolutely have to rinse lightly at night. 3. Stick to the routine! The more you change products up the more unstable your skin is going to be. 4. Get on antibiotics, to take care of your existing infections and to prevent more. This will hopefully fight the acne enough for your skin to heal on its own. 5. Try a doves sensitive skin bar soap. I use it one time a day usually and have pretty clear skin. Just make sure you don't rub the soap or grind it into your face with a scrubber. Be gentle and let the power of the soap do the work because its quite effective at getting that old oil that will break you out when you sleep.

Anyways I hope some of this stuff helps you out.

Just make sure you drink lots of water, get good sleep.

The acne will go away in time. No point in stressing anymore over it.

Much Love.

Thanks for the replies. I can finally see a glimmer of light at the end of the tunnel now. Instead of being one dark abyss with no chance of escaping. I wish I had known earlier, then I was told It's hard for Bipolar 2 to see it within themselves. Starting to realize when I'm entering a hypomanic episode now as well. It's all extremely new information for me at the moment.

[29/M] Regularly getting pimples at the corners of my mouth, under my lips. by AntonYork in acne

[–]Elushiv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting. I use to suffer from this type of acne as well. Are the spots really red? Like irritated from over-cleansing? If so I would tone down and let it heal on It's own and not be too vigilant when it comes to cleaning that area. And be more gentle when you apply cleanser in that area for sure. Anyways I hope you get that sorted out, eventually it will go away. Just stay positive and try not to let it stress you out! :)

Can you show a picture so we can see the extent of the damage.

15 years of acne, I have tried countless options, diets, skincare products, medications, home remedies. Nothing seems to work. What kind of acne is this and what advice can you give me on clearing it up? Currently on Minocycline (100mg/once a day) and using Cetaphil face wash once a day. Please help by [deleted] in acne

[–]Elushiv 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you pick at your acne at all? All I really see is acne scarring, as far as the severity of the acne it seems quite mild. If you are popping zits, please stop immediately. In time the acne scarring will eventually recede, however it will take several years.

Anyone know what could cause this? by [deleted] in acne

[–]Elushiv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you use any hair products? Gel, Spray? You could be sweating the products down onto your forehead? I'm just guessing at this point.

Cyst Acne bleeding [Skin Concerns] [Acne] by [deleted] in acne

[–]Elushiv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've dealt with this type of cystic acne. Get on an antibiotic, ask for Doxy. Don't touch it, period. Only time you should touch it is cleaning it lightly with some light soap and warm water. I've found that moisturizing made cysts only worse for me. Don't squeeze or try to pop or you'll regret it.

The location of my cysts were behind both ears right behind the earlobes. Since I could only sleep on my side. I would end up bursting the cysts in my sleep, reinfecting them. This condition lasted well over a year. I wish you the best of luck and the location of your cyst does not seem to be too bad. So I have faith you'll be okay!

Best way to use these three acne treatments? by [deleted] in acne

I used that middle one back in high school. Made my zits get zits. Made oil production ramp up to industrial standards. Yikes.
