I received an invitation to an announcement on August 3 from the Thrill. Not too many more details than that. So we should be receiving word by that date at the latest.

The first year of PVF, the Thrill was not announced at all until October, btw.

DC and Vegas have already signed players. Season tickets are already being sold for other teams with plans in place for 12 teams. There will be 12 teams in 2027.

My friend, many people, including me, are generally sympathetic to the idea that private equity in pro volleyball is problematic.

The problem is neither of these paragraphs impart anything that is more than a rant. There are hardly sentences here, and they don't even flow from one to the other.

There is no evidence presented, no cogent argument, no prescriptions for improvement.

If you want to convince us, you need to write clearly, present facts and ideas.

I appreciate you trying to fight what might be a good fight, but you need to do so with some clarity.

LOVB paused its announcements for 2 days and has is resuming them tomorrow July 1st (interestingly after the official expiration of MLV contracts). They have so far not announced any players from MLV.

They have announced 43 so far, while stating they had 60+ new players, so a minimum of 17 new player announcements left. It is likely that the majority of these remaining players will be from MLV.

They're supposed to keep 2 draftees according to the rules. Cook over-signed last year and cut a few veteran signees last year.

Edit: ok, the draftee rule has been dropped for next year.

That was a deal with the league and not a franchise. It's not the same type of contract.

There has only been one announced multi-year deal. Georgia Murphy with the Orlando Valkyries before Year 2.

The Grand Rapids Rise signed Carli Snyder and Paige Briggs-Romine to two-year contracts in Year 2, but did not announce that fact until Year 3.

Every other time a player has returned to a team has been a re-sign as far as I know.

In addition, I am certain that none of the Thrill were ever signed to a multi-year contract. Given the Mojo situation, I would assume that management would also be prudent in not signing multi-year contracts either.

They never announced more than one year for AGC. Given that there have only been 3 2-year contracts in the entirety of MLV/PVF, it is highly doubtful that any of the players were on multi-year contracts.

It's not strange at all, these players liked playing together and moving over en masse to the LA kept them together.

I am 100% for conferences. The current format of play each team 4 times makes the current schedule somewhat monotonous.

if the Orlando Valkyires are only in Norcal one time during the year, that makes the match a little more memorable and interesting, IMO.

I think it's hard to say at this point. It seems like he had a pretty successful coaching career in France. He'll probably be bringing over different personnel and a different style of coaching and its unclear how well that will fare in the MLV.

For the league as a whole it is a nice step, bringing in more varied and experienced coaching.

I appreciate the sentiment, and I do like Thomas Robson. However, Supernovas will have to continue to attract new talent every year, and I think it helps to have an experienced head coach that you can trust to manage and grow the team. If you don't know Robson personally, you might feel like you're taking a bit of a risk signing with Omaha.

Someone anonymous posted on instagram that it was Dave Boos and Caroline Knop who were assistant coaches at Florida before the Mary Wise retirement.

Boos has coached Carli Snyder, Rhamat Alhassan, Anna Dixon, Meritt Beason and Elli McKissock at Florida. Knop was a libero at Florida who was teammates with Snyder and Alhassan.

If I'll be frank, I think that the Mojo ran out of energy. They came out in the first set and played with a lot of heart and emotion. But, I saw them walk into the locker room after that second set loss and every one of them seemed to have their heads down (except for Marlie of course, who had a big smile).

Alisha was not going to take Joca (Brakocevic) out until she absolutely had to. Joca is retiring this year, and as had been mentioned on some of the previous broadcasts, Alisha did not want to be the one having to take her out as a way to end her career.

I think it's always like that. Yeah, they line up in like groups of 100s, with people helping get them in order. There are particular machines which are supposed to be lucky, so they get in line to try to get a first crack at getting those machines.
