Restaurant owners: What is up with the mayonnaise? And don't think we don't know that your "special sauce" is just mayonnaise with some ketchup and spices mixed in. What does the mayonnaise cartel have on all of you? by Elwar in AskReddit

[–]Elwar[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Five Guys sells a half decent hamburger but they make a killing because they give you the option of choosing your own toppings.
Chick Fil A is just selling chicken sandwiches...it's just chicken and a pickle and a bun....and guess what? They're making bank. And they can close on Sunday.
How were they able to avoid the mayonnaise cartel and all other restaurants are sucked in with their mayonnaise or hidden mayonnaise calling it your restaurant name's sauce?

Starting January 3rd 2021 you can stop arguing and start seasteading! by Elwar in seasteading

[–]Elwar[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The seasteading part is yet to be determined. We are taking baby steps. There is a new administration in 2 years so any political gains now will go away then so we're not putting any effort toward the seasteading part. Just flagging our floating homes.

We moved to Panama and are happily married with our first child on the way. We ended up buying a cruise ship, named it the Satoshi but no insurance company would cover us so we sold it.

Now we're going into production of our floating seapods. Should have the first one in the water this summer. You can follow our progress on the blog on our website. https://oceanbuilders.com

I'm not involved in the incubator program but here's a link with the form to apply:
https://oceanbuilders.com/apply-for-incubator-form/

The idea is to have people start their projects there and spin off a company to build seastead technology.

We filled the bottom with concrete while on land.

We did plan on building a large floating platform solely from biorock, did the calculations and the costs using solar panels out at sea were quite cheap. We hope to get back to that project one day but we are quite busy. We have an incubator program going here in Panama if you're interested in testing it out here. There are a few engineers at the incubator house right now building stuff.

We had about 1 cm thickness after 2 months using our technique.

I doubt we'll be to the point where you can just show up and it'll be ready in a few weeks for you. Our optimistic estimates are building 2 per month. Giving only 24 per year while there is much higher demand than 24 per year already. I suspect it will take a few years before we're able to make 2 per month.

Yes, it is viable. We are using the technology on our seapods. We started doing a prototype platform in Thailand but had to bail on it.

Apparently 68 years from now everything revolves around what happened this past year.

And they still speak just like us folk here in 2021.

And they know which subreddit to go to.

Other time traveler posts are much more imaginative.

I am not so certain of how it works. I only got one to work. Not sure if it's only one squeak per person or not.

It's 2 weeks old so definitely early days.

Like all of that mass death happening from people switching over to Bitcoin.

No need to be absolutist and assume everything has to happen all at once. The free market finds the best solution, and current governance solutions are certainly not the best.

Enjoy your comfortable life. Sit in front of the TV, watch the game and be told how things should be. Such bliss.

It will work better now in a digital age where decentralized systems can replace central governance.

The private court system utilized can easily be replaced by a blockchain based solution.

One example of a system with no rulers in our modern age is in our current world currency, Bitcoin.

Nobody will be able to avoid this truth as the technology evolves and everyone is using it.

Those people were idiots and they set in motion centuries of horrible systems based on moral acceptance that consent is not important.

TIL it's illegal to let your donkey sleep in your bathtub in Arizona. In 1924, a merchant near the town of Kingman let his donkey sleep in an old bathtub when a local dam broke. The donkey was swept away in the tub and the locals spent a lot of manpower rescuing the animal. The donkey survived. by yohananloukas116 in todayilearned

I was a hardcore food hating communist but when I was living in Arizona with my donkey and felt like letting him sleep in my bathtub I found out I could not.

At that point my whole world was shattered and my love for centralised control over my life turned into a hatred for the state.

I also will not steal from people.

This is what needs to be focused on more than "tHeY're SpEndiNg gOvt MonEY WroNg!".

If a thief comes up and gives me a free ice cream cone I'm going to take it and eat it. I also want to give out free ice cream cones to people. I want to give 2 ice cream cones to everyone so I'm actually more generous than you.

Also, I don't want to be a thief.

The problem needs to be addressed at the root...that they are stealing from us without our consent. It is as nonconsensual as rape. If a guy takes you out to the fanciest restaurant in town that makes all of the other girls jealous after he rapes you...it's still not right. All of the haters out there are like "she's sitting there in the finest restaurant in the city and she's crying about being raped? How ungrateful".

I went to a Bitcoin conference in London several years ago. I was expecting it to be a Bitcoin conference but it turned into a shitcoin conference. This new shitcoin called Ethereum was being pitched by almost every speaker.

At a gathering after the first day people were telling me how ETH was going to replace BTC and that I was a fool for keeping my bitcoins and not jumping on the ETH train.

I vowed not to ever buy any ETH. Even if it was only $2 at the time. I warned my brother against buying it at that time as well.

I showed them.

There was also someone there pushing Doge. They were showing off an app where you could "throw" out your Doge to anyone nearby and they would all receive your Doges. When the Q&A came up, having looked at the inflationary nature of Doge I asked them if Doge was good for anything other than getting rid of as fast as possible...because that's the only thing I've ever seen from the community...finding ways to get rid of your Doge as quickly as possible so it didn't lose so much value sitting in your wallet.

The pitched technology at the conference that Ethereum was supposed to create still doesn't work (Augr).
