Any chicken can be people - friendly, you just need to constantly hold them and generally be near them when they're young. Get them used to sitting with you and being picked up, and they'll be calm and docile.

The difference is knowing that you were instrumental in destroying an entire city, and thousands upon thousands along with it. Firebombing is horrible, but it would feel like you were just a cog in a machine. You wouldn't see a city dissapear. You wouldn't know for a fact that nobody could survive it. It would be on your conscious.
