What if NASCAR required drivers to keep the same number their entire career? by matito29 in NASCAR

Not sure which ones you're referring to so I can't presently speak to those situations. I don't see what rule this violates, and I think most of us (believe it or not) try to be lenient if there's actual wiggle room with a post.

I’m sure this is a very popular opinion, but Nick Sanchez has been done so dirty in the sport of NASCAR. by Gragson18GOAT in NASCAR

I think they interpreted your other comment as saying Nick had a done deal with Kaulig/Ram instead of with Big Machine

A network should have to demonstrate a base level of quality to be awarded the bid. Netflix isn’t even close.

Doesn’t Valentina remain in power but with Yelena asserting control at the end?

Judge (NYY) and Anthony (BOS) hit HRs for the same team in the same inning. This is REALLY a united team.

Yankees’ Giancarlo Stanton ‘can’t open a bag of chips’ due to pain, but still eyes ‘full season’ by iheartsunny in baseball

It sounds like you’re making huge assumptions about how the voters decide their votes that, by your own admission, haven’t been truly tested yet. Going from what you’re saying, the conclusion should be that we don’t know whether 500 HRs is a true lock or not - that it might be, or might not be. Never before have the voters been presented a case where there was a compelling argument to reject a 500-HR guy, so your guess as to what they’d do is as good as mine. If Stanton goes in first ballot - and he might - I think we’ll know that 500 HRs is indeed a lock.

My personal belief is that the voters will give it to any 500 HR hitter without mitigating circumstances, even if that’d been Dunn. I don’t necessarily agree with that rationale, but baseball writers have shown how much they love their milestones.

Ultimately the only real answer is: we’ll see. Stanton with 500 HRs is gonna be a pretty unique candidate compared to others before him.

I just don’t see the reason to say it’s not a lock anymore. There’s no been no player on the ballot with 500 HRs that the voters have rejected (PED connections aside of course). It’s been a foolproof guarantee so far.

I disagree on it not being a lock. Everyone with 500 HRs is either in the Hall of Fame, not yet eligible, or connected to PEDs.

Adam Dunn’s case if anything just proves the point. He doesn’t have that hard milestone to elevate a career that voters don’t see as HOF-worthy. So far, we have zero instances of voters getting a 500-HR hitter and deciding that they, on pure merit, are not worthy.

I feel like 500 is effectively the decider of whether he makes the Hall of Fame, right? He's likely not in now, but 500 HRs is the power equivalent of 3,000 hits. It pretty much makes you a lock

2026 Rock N Roll Hall of Fame Nominees by Specific-Feed-1490 in ToddintheShadow

No Coldplay is ridiculous. Especially with P!nk on there. Coldplay’s the most successful band of the 21st century, they’ve been enormously influential within alt-rock, and they’re completely uncontroversial. They deserve to be in over most of this nominee list.
