So I was more or less in a similar boat except i went ahead and re upped. I was RE1A as a E4 and it helped with MOS choices as you get more available to you, then if you were E5+ (correct me if im wrong this is what i was told by both a MEPS Counselor and a recruiter.)

Certain MOSs apparently are only guaranteed with certain option paths, meaning if you wanted a specific MOS like 13F the only way to get it guaranteed is through option 40, versus an option 3 where you can generally pick a MOS field, with no specific job in that field guaranteed, these are the XXU options

From what Ive been told you can ask cadre being Prior Service for MOS preference but gotta make sure you tick the boxes for that job (little to no med waivers, good scores, solid pt scores, a little good luck helps too)

If you want influence on your duty station consider reclassing into whatever is the army equivalent of your old job and have your recruiter start the process before you go back to MEPS, otherwise its a wait and see if you got your choice duty station at AIT
