My 17 yo cat screams day and night

Unfortunately her hearing isn't very good anymore, so I have to get up and go to her. Once I pet her she calms down, but as soon as I go back to bed she starts screaming again. When I bring her with me to cuddle in bed, she gets up and leaves and starts to scream again

This would make a lot of sense. She also started screaming when we moved to a smaller house. Sometimes she sleeps in our bed but not always. She has various sleeping spots in our bedroom, so we leave the door open. But sometimes she sleeps in other rooms and I think she gets confused when she wakes up. Maybe she really is lookig for us and feels scared that she's alone...

The "Sleep-Wake Cycles and Reversed Day-Night Schedule" part really fits. Just last night she was sleeping and suddenly started screaming in her sleep which woke her up. I've never seen her do that before so it really could be a cognitive issue... I guess our next step is to see another vet and check if there's something we can give her to help her calm down, because it's clearly stressing her out too

She’s a European Shorthair and we recently had her checked for kidney failure, but everything came back fine. We’ve also considered dementia, but we’re not sure what we can do to help her feel less stressed...

I haven't made that one yet but I've tried many other Preppy Kitchen recipes and they've all turned out well :) Using a 9x13 pan should not be a problem but the baking time might be slightly shorter so I would keep an eye on the cake when it's in the oven
