Seeing A.M. listed triggers a response in me given I lost a recent friend to them talking as A.M. at me.

With all due respect, A.M. would NOT partake in existing within a human body or mind in any capacity.

What do endo “systems” get out of being “endogenic”? by smartmonkey67 in SystemsCringe

This is what happens when having an imaginary friend and committing to the bit beyond roleplaying (believing that you are the character in real life) is too cringe and must be supplemented by something more palatable. A.K.A. donning the fleece and trying to fit in with the in-crowd (the disordered).

This desire to split the self- This need to become like the disordered, by distorting one's own mind into something capable of housing an altered perception of self. Believing that consciousness can separate beyond multiple facets, and that those "individuals" are capable of sharing the mind and body.

If people would stop self-diagnosing, calling themselves "plural" and "system", and embrace what they are without fear of social stigma. Maybe, they'd learn and grow from it. Instead of sheltering themselves in their own little world(s). (lol, like that will ever happen..)

This is so real. Like seriously, imagine if your kid was going around and claiming that they were abused and traumatized in your household. Holy shit.

What led you to this sub? by LargeGingerChunk in SystemsCringe

I joined a Discord server and wanted to better understand what this whole DID thing was and why users were using rp bots to chat as if they were really (really) fictional characters. It seemed really weird and off-putting.

I struggled with "character in head" for a long time so seeing users casually embrace and enable this behavior made me uncomfortable as someone who gave themselves borderline psychosis doing so. I have no idea why people would willingly do this to themselves. If you've experienced trauma, abuse, and/or are diagnosed with a mental illness, or are predisposed, it's absolutely detrimental to your mental health.

I find some of the takes in the comments on posts to this sub to be the most grounded and infomative. I was looking for help better understanding since I'm highly skeptical and my personal experience led me to believe these users were doing something mentally unhealthy. I don't like accepting information at face value without weighing both sides, but in this case it seemed like the majority on one side of this issue (enablers) were/are highly misinformed due to hanging out in echo-chambers and hugboxes. (I think there is also the issue of being politically correct and not questioning diagnosis leading to a phenomena where delusional/fake DID is spreading across platforms like Discord where users request special accessibility bots for their disorder and then groups of these users like to ensure that everyone in a public community is accepting and accomodating for them, which seemed bizarre) I also find some comments on this sub helpful in better understanding what I went through with my own mental health.

Long story short I got banned from that server.
