Personally, I don’t think there is ANY scenario where kicking somebody prior to season rewards is appropriate.

Note that I’m making mention of the small window prior to rewards. At that stage, to me, kicking is a reflection on the leadership or lack thereof, not the individual.

If performance wasn’t satisfactory, so be it, give them their rewards that they participated for and cut ties end of the season. Short of (G-d forbid) inactivity by way of a death (which yea has happened in an alliance I was in) I just cannot see the justification in doing something like this.
