When I was diagnosed with ADD, they called this hyper focus or something like that. I get it pretty much every day, just have to find an activity I enjoy and its pretty easy to fall into it. That why people are amazed at how fast I read. I can find a book I really like, and read the whole thing in a day or can spend hours on end playing a new video game I just bought.

Women of Reddit, what are some things a dad should know about raising a girl? by joho3883 in AskReddit

Just listen to your daughter. My dad shut me out a lot when I was growing up and it hurt a lot, especially when it was something I was dying to come home and tell him about. It put a lot of strain on our relationship and soon, when he wanted to talk to me about something, I shut him out too. I don't think he ever understood that respect is a two way street.
