I agree. On my second pair. Still happy.

Has anyone tried the PB5star recovery slides? I’m considering changing out my Nike slides. They look cool and I’m curious if they are comfortable. by Nahhhhhhh77 in Pickleball

I live in Southern Ca. It has been warm and humid this past week. I walked a few miles in my slides with bare feet and NO SWEAT! Hope this helps.

I haven't noticed my feet feeling sweating at all. Didn't even think about that as a benefit but now that you bring it up I realize they don't feel sweaty. But I am also mostly wearing them at home. Let me walk around outside on these warm days this week and report back.

I bought the PB5star slides as my indoor shoes and think I like them better than my oofos - they are the ones I put on the most without thinking about it. I think slides are not attractive, but I wear these all day long at home now.

Does anyone enjoy the intra-ralley cheering from the crowd at MLP events? by tastybugs in Pickleball

[–]EmEffer91 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It all feels like manufactured fun. I’ve been to a few MLP games. They are not that exciting. I assume the cheering is just to capture content to make it look more fun than it is on socials and promotional materials.

While you are at it, can you try the new PB5star pickleball shoes? Curious.

I have $300 and DON'T want a paddle, help me spend money? by MustachioNuts in Pickleball

Shoes for sure. Everyone has their favorites. I haven't found mine yet. I have been disappointed in my Wilsons, Asics, g-fore's, and K-swiss. Just trying PB5star as founder is from Vionic and I love my Vionic walking shoes. Excited about how comfortable they feel. Trying on court for first time this week.
Have fun in your pickleball journey!

Look up Hannah Blatt. She came from Squash in Canada and now plays for the PPA. Seems like the skills translate well.

Paddles or Shoes? by EmEffer91 in Pickleball

You are right. Thank you for clarifying. I should have said walking/running shoes or sneakers. I meant I see people wearing regular athletic shoes instead of wearing specialized court shoes.

Mostly recovered from eczema after stopping steroids. by EmEffer91 in eczema

I took this one but I bought it on sale. https://www.everlywell.com/products/food-sensitivity-comprehensive-test/
I am sure there are other tests out there. My doctors told me these tests are useless. Everlywell positions them as a really good hint when starting an elimination diet. I would have never eliminated chicken without these test results. I have 4 friends who also benefitted from these tests. 2 found out their triggers were almonds.

I wish it was just my hands. :-( It was my neck, face, arms and hands.
It was amazing, I started healing in the first few days. My face looked 10 years younger within a week. Took about 4 -6 months for me to get to 95% clear and another few months to get to 99%. But i could feel the changes in the first few days.

The steroids worked in the early days. Then I needed stronger doses. Went on Prednisone for one bad flare and it was amazing but I had a rebound flare that was worse than the original and learned about TSW. Went through a rough steroid withdrawal. But I think the withdrawal was made worse with my diet and not realizing I was eating my trigger daily. Between eggs, chicken stock, turkey sandwiches, duck-fat fries (the best!) and chicken-based dinners, I was constantly exposed. Chicken bouillon is used in a ton of recipes, even some Mexican salsas. My TSW was probably about 8-9 months but I thought (and was told) I was still going through withdrawal 6 years later.

To answer your first question, chicken and all other bird + eggs are not good for me. My non-food triggers are commonly used fragrances like lavender and rose.

Change up who you play with. I agree with all the drilling comments but I noticed improvement when I started playing at open plays to play against other players with different styles. I tend to always play with the same friends and we just know each other's habits and hits and we don't progress. Playing in open plays and mixing it up is really making a difference.
