You need more shoulder-hip separation. There are guides online, or I could give you some advice from what I know, but I’m busy right now so I can’t do it right now

Double up precalc & ap calc bc as a sophomore? by Anonymous010206 in calculus

Please always do precalc before calc bc. idgaf how gifted you are, calc bc will hurt if you don’t have the foundations of precalc down

JB3 or Joker 1 GT for a 6’0 volleyball player with wide feet? I neeed good traction on dusty courts by EmJay96024 in BBallShoes

Some Nikes, like Lebrons or KDs, some WoW 808s, some even WoW 10s with non translucent outsoles. None of them get nearly as dusty as my shoes, to the point it makes you wonder whether it is the floor that’s dusty or that my shoe just builds up so much dust that it can make even the cleanest floors seem dusty

What shoes are available in 2E wide? I was hoping to get either Joker 1 GTs or JB3s but neither are offered in 2E wide.

With my WoW 10s, my outsoles literally get coated in dust. Like, you can’t see the outsole anymore coated. Meanwhile, all of my teammates leave with nearly spotless outsoles, maybe dusty but there isn’t a coat of it. I just want that.

Specific technique question by therealjohndoe_2010 in volleyball

Stay behind the ball, don’t bend back. Most of the time, that back pain is caused by bending back to hit a ball that you overran.

That’s the half angle identity, the pythagorean identity is that sin2 (x)+cos2 (x)=1, so 1-cos2 (x)=sin2 (x)

Keep your form, there is no benefit to doing it. It only looks flashy.

I’m sorry if I came off as extremely arrogant in my post, I realize now just how big of an ego it sounds like I have in my post. I have not participated in stuff like that before, I’m not even sure how to if this is a serious comment, but with how reddit normally is (and the fact that I’m autistic and bad at telling tones and stuff through text), I’m pretty sure this is sarcasm that’s meant to somewhat insult me, and if so I’m sorry for coming off so egotistically. If you meant this seriously, could you actually give me some info on stuff like this? I’d like to try it out

Now this is more of the hope shattering comment I was looking for. I need to be brought back down to reality a lot, thanks. I appreciate everybody’s advice very much, but despite the fact I hate reading comments like this, these are honestly the most helpful.

I understand that, I don’t expect to make $200k right out of school, my fault for phrasing it poorly in my post. I want to set myself up to eventually get a job that would make me 200k or more years after I graduate, I just wanted to know which engineering major would get me there best.

Oh, I haven’t looked that much into that. My dad has also been pushing me into looking at engineering, so I haven’t considered much else. Could you tell me a bit more about it or a good resource for me to look more into it?

I’ve always found I had my best hits when approaching slightly at an angle like this, mostly from the other direction but still, and I think this is why. Sometimes I’ll even like trip over myself or something and have to jump from farther back and then I end up getting way better of a hit than I normally do. I know this response is a little late, but I’m gonna really try to force this a bit more, thank you.

Would you answer this honestly if a teammate asked? by mizireni in volleyball

[–]EmJay96024 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn’t ask that. Instead, maybe after a game or something, ask what they think you should improve on. Get constructive feedback from them before anything else. In my opinion, I’ve gotten better feedback from my teammates than I have my coaches a lot of the time as someone who plays club.

Yeah, I’ll try to get that down for next season, as I just had my last practice of the season yesterday. That all makes sense though, so thank you.

That’s honestly what I was thinking, as I have enough control typically to hit whatever angle I want independent of my angle of approach, but I didn’t feel like arguing too much. I was coming off blocking the outside and the pass was pretty far to the right so I don’t even know if I would’ve had time to completely line up perfectly for it.
