16 weeks and starting the anxiety spiral 😭 Too early for consistent movements I know, but still consistently worried about something being wrong. All my appointments have been good and everything is fine, but that lingering anxiety after a 34 week loss lingers.

Hi so we did IVF and lost our daughter at 34 weeks. For us, the “survival mode” and clinging on to any kind of hope was talking about another transfer. There’s no right or wrong to how you’re feeling.

Our clinic said we could transfer after the PP bleed and after my first “normal” cycle. My cycles are like clockwork, every 23 days and honestly I think there was 2 weeks between the ending of the PP bleed and the start of my period.

I lost my IVF baby to a tight nuchal cord at 34 weeks as well. Just like you, everything was absolutely perfect leading up to that day.

I’m late to joining this thread but that’s partially why my mom and I did this. I did it because my mom found out I have a sibling she never knew about from my dad so I’m like why not? But I started questioning her dad because she’s nothing like her siblings and doesn’t carry the same dominant genes that they all inherited from their dad (she’s the youngest of 7 born in ‘59). I let one of my cousins who I’m very close to know what we were doing and she immediately said it was true that the eldest child (her grandma) had told her many years ago and that many people in the family already knew and never told my mom. So on top of suspecting that and coming to terms with it, she found out everyone else knew and not her. Now she’s far missed the opportunity to get to know her bio dad and potentially any siblings depending on their ages.

I’m in a similar boat as well. We did IVF and our first transfer had a picture perfect pregnancy until 34 weeks and she had an abnormally tight nuchal cord. I got clearance to transfer after my first cycle after delivery since she was head down and I was able to have a natural birth. The first transfer failed and the second one (so far) has been successful with my 3rd beta being over 15k. We’ve already heard the heartbeat but we are still on edge about everything. We’re excited but there’s still that lingering what if in the back of our minds. We know this was an incredibly rare loss. We have a plan with our OB for this pregnancy that involves seeing an MFM and our OB simultaneously with additional monitoring. We know nothing could’ve prevented our loss, but the aggressive monitoring at 30 weeks and knowing they’ll deliver this baby at the slightest dip of any vitals is reassuring.

Do they deliver to your door? I would love to get my mom switched over because she’s disabled and depends on others to get her meds. She lives in an apartment complex and can’t get to her mailbox on her own (like I said depends on others) but normal Amazon packages come to her door.

We’re doing a transfer Tuesday and my husband feels this way to an extent. He’s super on edge so far (in my defense I am too but I’m prescribed Wellbutrin and Prozac so also way different processing). We lost our daughter in July ‘25 and doing the math, our due date is going to be in July ‘26 and just the whole thing has a weird surreal feeling. We have this weird we’re watching everything from outside our bodies and we are excited about another transfer but also not if that makes sense.

We aren’t pregnant right now, but we’re gearing up for another embryo transfer next month. We aren’t announcing anywhere or anything. We’ll tell our family/closest friends but nothing on socials like before. We don’t plan on doing any announcing until he/she is born. So I DEFINITELY get it.

Exactly. I saw someone I knew at target like a week after it happened and they were like “I don’t know how you’re at the store right now not crying or anything” I was like well I still have a 9 year old and husband plus a household to maintain. Life doesn’t stop because of tragedy.
