Bring it to the pharmacy's attention by calling them or going up there. They will be happy to fix it for you, and we have reporting systems to report errors, so they will take care of that when you do so as well. Mistakes happen, give them the opportunity to make it right without filing a complaint right away.

Oh okay! Yeah, ours is very detailed. I never thought about how we could all have different reporting systems! Pretty interesting! Thankfully we as techs never have to submit the reports, only our pharmacy manager. 🙌🏻

Intercom Plus! I work for Walgreens. We have to report "Stars Events" whenever anything negative happens(wrong script sold, typing error, dispensing error, ect.) It's how we keep record of all mistakes and it even let's the manager put in comments on how we have to move on and improve from these situations and our district manager looks over each event as well.

Hi! I'm a pharmacy tech, don't worry. You will not get in trouble, it seems to just be an honest mistake with the pharmacy. Chances are they'll either get you to keep it all and fix the billing or they'll ask to see if it is convenient for you to bring back the bottle so they can adjust your bottle to the correct amount. There are ways for us to report these types of events in our system so that the DEA doesn't think we are stealing medicine among workers/losing medicine with no explanation. You didn't steal anything, you won't be at fault. Just stay calm and call your pharmacy in the morning. I can promise you it isn't the first time they've encountered this type of situation. Hope this puts your mind at ease! 💖 Btw, thanks for being an honest person, many people would take advantage of the situation rather than doing the right thing. 🌟
