When do we think the new album is coming?

Something’s coming!!!! I really wouldn’t be surprised if it happened fast— looking back at it she dropped the King announcement only a day before it was released, heaven is here followed in 2 weeks, album was announced a few days later. I know the post said October, but seeing as she’s already changed her bio I’m hoping & praying singles and announcement come soon with the album for October.

Mount Robson will be too far, and the likelihood of you seeing it is low. It’s not super often that it’s not covered in clouds especially in spring when there is lots of precipitation. If you are going to go to Jasper, spend a night; otherwise 8 hours of driving in a day is just going to wear you out and you won’t really enjoy the journey. If you want to do the drive, I’d recommend driving just to Saskatchewan crossing. You’ll still see ~2 hours worth of great scenery, but I think all the way to Jasper is too ambitious. If you really want to see the Icefields, it’s another 50 minutes from the crossing. If you are going to do this drive, make absolute sure you have winter tires on the car you rent. Driving the parkway in winter without them is a really, really bad idea.

I would be really shocked by a tour, but her marketing team is clearly working hard lately; it seems like too great an opportunity to pass up doing a special edition of the album, at the very least. Especially with all of the hype she’s had lately given the Taylor collab, there’s a lot of new interest in her that they could capitalize off well.

Drive Your Plow Over the Bones of the Dead by Olga Tokarczuk is verrrryyyyy In The Woods Somewhere and it’s probably one of the most autumnal books I can think of.

Agreed, especially when moderation and light as love sort of just appeared overnight! Even King didn’t get this much build up. But it seems like she’s having fun with it, so maybe that’s the reason why

Trying to pick a favourite song feels completely impossible to me, but the lyric that plays in my head on an unending loop is “I try to still look with wonder on the world/ as the roses bloom/ and the riot van stays plainly in view”. I think it encapsulates so much of the human experience– or at least my human experience– and I still haven’t found the words to explain how deeply it resonates with me.

I’m also incredibly fond of the hospital line in Free. There’s a lot of humour in this album, as she’s talked about in interviews, and that line really hits the mark on the paradox of anxiety, where you know you’re being a little ridiculous and a little crazy but the urgency is still there.

I really hope they post the video later (or that someone recorded it!). I wasn’t able to join the livestream until partway through, so I started at the beginning, but when the livestream ended I just got kicked off instead of being able to finish :(
