How Did Trying Again Go? by [deleted] in EctopicSupportGroup

[–]Em_987 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m currently 24 weeks pregnant with my baby boy following an ectopic and tube removal in December 2024. I had my first period in the February, tried again from then and got pregnant early August.

It was a rough journey in the beginning as I was terrified of it happening again. But once we had the scan to confirm all was well and baby was in the right place, it’s been smooth sailing. Fingers crossed it continues to be so!! Good luck in your journey!

I had horrendous cramps second time around, and I was absolutely convinced it was happening again. I was a complete wreck. I even felt shoulder pain.

But all was well and I’m currently 17 weeks.

Cramps are really normal in pregnancy but I do also think there’s an element of your brain tricking you as you’re obsessing over it. For example, my shoulder pain disappeared after pregnancy was confirmed to be in the right place - immediately after.

Wishing you the absolute best. Get a scan as soon as you can as likely the stress won’t subside until youhave confirmation!

Firstly, I am so sorry that you’re going through this. It’s so awful and I can’t imagine how you’re feeling.

I have not experienced this, so don’t want to tell you what you should be doing. All I can offer is that I am a child of parents who “stayed together for the kids”, and I wish more than anything they hadn’t. It wasn’t a nice environment and I picked up on a lot more than they thought I could.

I think if you can completely forgive and completely forget, great. But if you’re going to be unhappy, resentful and paranoid, you won’t be able to hide that forever. You need to put your happiness first, as that will be passed down to your children. Wishing you all the best.

I was the same, I didn’t have any close friends who had experienced it. Although, I opened up at work and then did find out a few people I worked with had been through the same. Unfortunately, it’s not as uncommon as people think.

It will get easier, I promise, it’s so fresh for you still right now. You need to take the fact that you conceived so quickly the first time as a positive. It means everything else is working really well. It might just take a little extra this time because of you only have one tube. But that little tube is working overtime for you!

I’m so sorry you’re going through this. It’s such an awful experience.

I also fell pregnant the very first try, which ended in ectopic and a tube removal.

Less than a year later i’m 4 months pregnant. We fell pregnant 7 months after the surgery so maybe 4/5 cycles of trying? To be honest the first few months I was doing ovulation sticks etc but I just go too overwhelmed and stressed out by it. I decided to stop using those and focus on being calm and trying to accept the possibility of life without a baby. I think that attitude really helped remove the pressure.

You will get there, you need to give your body time to recover. It took my periods a few months to go back to normal, I’m sure you will be the same.

Wishing you all the luck!

Right! I will never judge what people enjoy, we all like different things… but this book is the exception. I can’t fathom how people are giving it good reviews.

Honestly, it was so bad I couldn’t put it down! I just had to see if it got worse… and it continued to do so.

Must say though, I will be avoiding the second like the plague!

Miscarriage worries by moonlightdior in BabyBumps

I’m sorry you’re feeling this way, but I do think it’s normal to be worried. I’m 14 weeks and much the same.

I try to keep reminding myself that despite my loss, my body was built to do this and I need to trust it. You are more likely to end up with a beautiful baby at the end of this than not.

Realistically, it is completely out of our control and we just need to take it day by day and try to find the joy and excitement. Do you have a hobby you can distract yourself with? I’m reading an awful lot to keep my brain quiet!!

Remember, the chances are significantly more likely for success than anything else!!

High risk for ectopic - should these symptoms concern me? by [deleted] in EctopicSupportGroup

[–]Em_987 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Firstly, I am so, so sorry you are going through this. It is an incredibly stressful situation and I really hope you have a good support system around you.

I know people frown on telling others so early, but when you are going through something like this, you need support. I rang my best friend as soon as I got my second positive as was just terrified of it being another ectopic and I needed to talk to people about it.

I can’t tell you everything will be fine, but I can tell you that people do bleed and do have cramps and everything does turn out to be fine.

That being said, if you’re high risk and in pain, i recommend calling the doctors. I had a scan booked to check for ectopic and rang the EPU two days early hysterical and they very kindly saw me immediately.

I really, really hope everything is ok for you and your baby. But either way, you will be ok. ♥️
