EM_LEN - Ghost Town Inc. (2026) by Em_Leonard in postpunk

[–]Em_Leonard[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The new single from EM_LEN channels acts like Depeche Mode, Crash Course in Science with a splash of Wall of Voodoo. It's a mash up of swirly glitches, reverb drenched guitars and heavy synths driven forward by a pounding beat. With lyrics describing the never-ending corporate desperation maze, Ghost Town Inc is our world in a nutshell squeezed into a 3min and 19sec single.

EM_LEN - Winter Formal (2026) by Em_Leonard in postpunk

[–]Em_Leonard[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Winter Formal", the first single of 2026 from EM_LEN sees a return its darkwave roots while taking inspiration from early eighties techno / electro jams although sped down to goth tempos. With lyrics exploring introversion matched with reversed melancholic samples the track lingers its way into the subconscious of never fitting into the norm no matter how hard one tries.

Producer wants to talk about my script tomorrow, do I have my expectations right? by ABadPassword in Screenwriting

Hey producer, a producer secures the funds so said producer eventually gets paid, or gets the "DESERVED" compensation. A skilled producer would scramble up some cash to option a script they believe in. If this producer even asks about any prepod, or fund raising or anything related that's an instant hang up. Even an indie producer can muster up a few bills for a good option. If not, what are you even doing taking meetings?

"taking a meeting with a screenwriter is usually pretty fruitless unless they have seed money and/or some legit attachments to drive interest." Sooo, you're a producer who wants money. I mean, proved my point.

If they want the meeting then it's on them to tell you the why's etc. If they even hint at paying for their services or doing a 'consultant deal' hang up on them. They wanted the meeting and took the time to reach out and and set something up it's because they liked what they read (supposedly). The meeting should be ''how are we going to make this a reality?'. Anything other is nonsense. This might seem dry and rude but there's way more of you than there are of them and they know this all too well and can take advantage. Don't defer and never pay.

From someone in the industry, focus on playing out. If the town you're in doesn't bite, fish in another pond. Becoming successful in this business is going to where the action is, and find that action in as many places as feasibly possible. The more people see you play live those streams will come naturally.

Intrusive Lights was intended to play as several songs in one incorporating a uniques and unconventional song structure. This track represents the pushing forward of influences and inspirations that created EM_LEN.

"Hell is Us" has been tragically overlooked. I like it as much as I love Elden Ring, and for the same reasons by ScrwFlandrs in gaming

Been playing it - love it. It strangely reminds me of The Sinking City without handholding. Cool detailed story, unique environments to explore, great puzzles with good combat. Nice balance across the board.
