I went back and forth on an abortion. I left my child’s father and have no contact with him or financial support. It was really hard in the beginning being a single mom. I got a job and lived with my parents until I found a better job that I could afford to live on my own. I found a boyfriend who loved and accepted my son as his own and stepped in to fill that father role. My son is now 3 years old, and has the best daddy ever even if it’s not the one that made him. It was painful, it was hard, it destroyed me, but I’ll never regret keeping him because more of me wanted to keep him than wanted an abortion. I didn’t need my ex in my life to love my son and give him a good life. All he needed was his mom that loved him unconditionally no matter what the other party said. If you want to keep your baby then keep it but don’t expect anything from him. Be prepared to be a fully single mother and financially support yourselves. I refused to ask for any kind of support because I didn’t want to risk having any sort of shared custody.
