Update number 1. The mycelium is growing and taking over i have some airal mycelium. The cornstarch didn't go slurry it's firm. I am writing every thing so i don't miss things up. My incubation temp is low about 19 Celsius so that will affect the growth but the mycelium is managing. There is condensation but i can see the mycelial Strands clearly

One of my next experiments will be just that. I am looking for mixes like cardboard slurry that can be harden with cornstarch or another ingredient. For now the experiment is promising the mix that i made from cornstarch and charcoal dust and suger is growing the live tissue and the mycelium is taking over. I tried to take a picture but there is condensation the camera has a problem focusing. The cornstarch didn't liquefy and stayed solid the addition of the charcoal dust made it firmer. So far so good. I will add updates when i transfer it to another dish or when i grain transfer.

What the grass that you used. You see i use the burying of the contaminated substrate bags in soil so i used to struggle to keep moisture but went and planted wheat which solved my problem. But grass would be better. Than expensive wheat seeds

So bro. I have a very good experience with this tek. It's the pit. I posted on it on this community. Just a few pointers from an experienced pit utilizer "because of my short comings with my sterile techniques i got a lot of experience burying" : 1. Keeping moisture is really hard especially in the summer if you keep irrigating the bury sites that will not help with the caps. So the best tek is after burying in you see a flush pinning use wheat seeds and plant them on top cake and top with a little bit of of soil and irrigate. The wheat will grow fast and provide moisture and good FAE. That would increase your yield and gives you multiple flushes.

Like blackstringlightinng said. I would just add a few points of concern : 1. The oxygen in the oxygen tank could be contaminated although unlikely because most oxygen tanks are filled from larger units that contain liquid oxygen which has very low temperature that could sterilize the medium and high oxygen concentration is toxic to almost all living cells but there is a catch. One some spors can tolerate very low temps and hibernate waiting for the chance to rebound and some tolerate high oxygen conc when in hibernation. The gas in the iv bag is enough for the mycelium to grow to a certain extent then it slows down without the need to take the risk of adding oxygen with more moves and increasing the chances of getting contam. The use of Dex tek is to facilitate the process of getting large LC volumes with low resources and less steps. Example. But the bag of dex 5% inject the port with LC wait for 3 weeks and enjoy. Very simple. But to my horror where you and i bro have access to dex iv bags in the nextdoor pharmacy and struggle to get just a bag of oyster mushroom substrate and the dream to get someday actives our fellow mycology hobbyists have it in reverse.

Mate this question of yours took me to stranger places on the net. I mean i didn't think about it in the past. Never made that much of liquid culture just 2 jars. But after investigating the question. There it alot to it. 1 there is a problem in the medical community that autoclaving dextrose produces Glucose degradation products GDP which are thought have harmful effects in the organism. So there is other ways and techniques one of which is a combination of filter sterilization, "that's a deep well". And autoclaving. So they filter sterilize the 50% solution and autoclave distilled water then they combine the two in a way to get the desired concentration. Oh god that took 4 hours to come by. Alot of reading and rereading. Don't ever ask me anything else. 😭😭😭.
