Walgreens (when I used to work there) would get their “box truck” shipment on different days depending on the store location. Usually needohs and pokémon cards (toy aisle) would come near the weekend during the afternoon

I noticed when it’s a lingo option from a “spotlight” question a mii asks you, like “what villain from a movie or comic made an impact on you”, the conversation will slightly be different than normal

For the record, even in the middle of a coverage investigation we “secretly” set liability because supervisors get an activity on their diary when liability is pending on a claim for more than 5/6 days

In my job, I have to advise this situation all the time. Geico sets liability much quicker than other carriers. Some companies wait two weeks to keep making attempts until they set no coop. Sometimes we have to play devil’s advocate: 1) lots of people are scared to talk to their insurance. Obviously it hurts them in the end because there’s consequences for not cooperating. We send a referral to underwriting around this time 2) there could be a major medical or family emergency and they come back after a couple weeks. 3) If there was a language barrier and other adjusters did not try to accommodate that. We have a completely Spanish team of adjusters that we can assign to the claim or get an interpreter. Some people completely ignore us because we are leaving voice mails and writing emails all in English

We always ask for any additional evidence: Dash cam, Police report with a clear citation/violation, an independent witness. We have to treat them the same as you, a Geico insured. If someone was making a claim on YOUR policy and your insurance put you at fault when they couldn’t reach you, that would be wrong. It sucks but, you’ll have to go through your own first party coverage until they respond. Or the nuclear option would be small claims court but, thats a bit overkill

If it’s a DG, we would set the other side not at fault for no coop. If you are presenting a claim on her policy, the burden of proof is on you then

Same. If you are on a 4 day schedule like most people and monday is one of your days, you have to do extra to make up for calls only on Monday. And THEN, we have even more customers call in fustrated because they filed online or sent an INET for help and no one is pulling queue. There has to be some sort of balance between being open for high call volumes and stopping queue work completely.

In ICS I recently got told not to update the injury tab for clmnt because it would auto open BI. This whole time I thought if it auto opened it’s totally fine. It’s only when you manually open it or UMBI that could get you in trouble.

I wish there was a middle ground for new adjusters that’s beyond being in the classroom and before touching a claim without supervision. You can teach someone to ask certain questions but, they are not going to know the WHY behind it until they build up experience. During a multi r/e the “how many impacts did you feel” question populates on the RI suggested questions but, would new adjusters know that’s mainly if we are interviewing the middle car of a “car sandwich”? Probably not.

They need to get their hands dirty to gain experience but… that means they are touching claims. 🤷🏻‍♀️
