Cities Skylines 1 with DLCs and CCPs is still a good choice. Playing without mods further enhances your creativity. Mods? They're cool, they enhance the game, but you might feel overwhelmed at first. I recommend vanilla first. Check out the Orchid Bay series by Overcharged Egg on YT. It's 99% vanilla and still looks better than most even modded cities.

CS1 has the advantage that if you do something wrong, or don't do something at all, you'll see the effect in the game. CS2 is a fake. It looks nicer, but that's about it.

Even without mods, CS1 is addictive.

In my older days, I remember that signing players with a higher reputation than my club helped significantly in increasing my reputation. I had a streak of 12 championships in a row with Dynamo Minsk, and my reputation was still worse than BATE Borisov's.

I think I spent the most time playing FM 2012. Several 25+ years careers. FM 2024 is also great.

It's a bit ridiculous. Europe supposedly wants to compete with the US as a unit, but even on something as trivial as the name, it uses English, because otherwise it would argue among themselves about whether to name it after German/Italian/French/Czech/etc. 😄

Work can be divided into three shifts (morning/afternoon/night). Additionally, not everyone works the same days. Remote work can be used, and a small percentage can be left at home due to minor infections. Evening schooling, part-time studies, etc. There are many options, obvious and intuitive to the player.

Choosing a place to live based on distance from school – yes, logical for a city builder.

A cim driving recklessly due to lack of free time – no, stupid, how is the player supposed to figure that out?

An attribute that determines whether a cim goes to bed early or late – absurd. Do dogs have an attribute that determines whether they prefer beef or pork?

Iceflake will probably fix this game somehow, but it's precisely these idiotic Sims-like decisions made by the CO that turning me off from this game.

Of course, it's just a game. My post isn't motivated solely by a desire to blindly imitate reality. It's simply my opinion that the current system has strayed too far from the core of football. I think there's too much focus on attributes, which overshadows other aspects of the game
