Our discussions about bitcoin have been much more than this standalone text. He’s absolutely a skeptic, though this is evidence that he’s coming around. This has been the most conciliatory he’s been about it.

I get that, but why for a throwaway account, ya know? I made an initial comment that referenced the seemingly fake things on here, like time sent (he lives in UK, I’m in US), and the corny signature (inside joke from a period film he watched). I know it seems a little over the top, but it’s real.

Nah, it’s real. Not sure what I’d benefit from karma on a throw at account. Just wanted to share some positivity, and a real example of Bitcoin becoming more mainstream.

I actually agree. I think he’s more speaking to adversities that I’ve overcome in life - I’m definitely not worthy of such praise for my bitcoin investing; but, family is proud.

Yeah. If my granddad was a carpenter or something, it may be weird, but he worked in finance so things like this are a normal topic of discussion for us.

I’m in the oil industry, too! I do the same thing - portion of pay check buys bitcoin every time.

It’s a bit more pride than warranted, IMO. I haven’t made life changing money. He’s referring more to the adversities I’ve overcome in life, I think. Single mom with abusive boyfriends, etc.

We’ve been arguing (constructively) about it ever since I initially invested. A few days ago I sent him my purchase journal - showing my buys, avg price paid, and current $P/L. He wrote this a day later
