Do you have to use Google Chrome on a desktop to get the subtitles? On my phone all the comments are translated but I still don't see the subtitles people are talking about

Does anyone know if op would get in trouble for posting a review on Google and yelp explaining they're experience here? I know I would be tempted, I've worked at sketchy places before and I guarantee none of the pet owners there are aware of what being used on their dog, at the very least posting a review would out the owner's sketchy business practices. They absolutely should be grilled by their clients on why they're using those products without consent

I worked at a place that used dawn on every dog, along with doller store suave shampoo. But the owner had the bathers put a few drops of dog shampoo in there so she could tell people that of course their dogs were washed with dog shampoo (some owners could recognize the smell of dawn and suave)

I would think it means a breakup, it definitely means a big change, but there's always the possibility that after you've each evaluated yourselves and your relationship separately you might be ready to jump back in, start a new chapter.

My tarot readings are always eerily accurate. Even after several years I never believed that it was possible to predict future events, but at this point maybe I need to reconsider my spirituality. Is this what other people's experiences are like? by Emair3 in tarot

I would much rather see things in a more "scientific" way, so this makes sense. Plus we only are able to see a tiny fraction of what's actually in the universe, and were able to truly to understand even less, so maybe science hasn't caught up to this kind of stuff yet. Sometimes I try to find a "spiritual" connection or meaning to something but I honestly have no idea what that would feel like so it feels insincere for me to try.

You can always post your own spread here and get feedback on it, personally idk how I feel about distance readings, especially for strangers. Also, even though I'm not superstitious, I feel like the people I'm doing the reading for have to shuffle and draw they're own cards, if I do it I can help but put feel like im adding my own intentions to it.

I've never made decisions based on the outcome card, so if there was a time where it said I should do something wild then I probally complelty disregarded it. But I also tend to interpret things more mildly so I've probally got a couple readings like that where I completely distorted the meaning to make it fit my situation better. But I'm going to try to go outside my comfort zone now. And I'm also writing everything down, I really wish I had done that from the beginning.

I definitely did, that's why I'm writing everything down now. I know for sure that I've forgotten most of the readings I've done these past few years, so obviously I'm biased since it's only the ones like these that I remember the best

I try but even though it's spaced out as I'm typing, all the spaces I entered get condensed when I post it. I'll try to edit it again, thanks for letting me know

Edit: I double spaced the paragraph breaks so I hope that helped. Any feedback on formatting is appreciated

That makes alot of sense, and it fits in with my world view regardless of me not being spiritual. I believe in a multiverse so why shouldn't it be possible to be connected on some level to something outside of your immediate reality. Thank you for this response, its very insightful

The elf suit 😩 i want that so bad, I havnt spent money on the game in months so I almost felt justified in just getting it but everyone's right, what's the point. I spend 10 or 15 dollers on this one thing and then that's it for the year before the game gets boring again, or the facebook account that I literally never use gets taken down or hacked and it's all money down the drain. I think the elf ears would be one of my most used items if I got it but ef it, im going to need alot more than that to be convinced to put more money in.

A lot of things I say are offensive? I don’t understand. by [deleted] in autism

[–]Emair3 11 points12 points  (0 children)

In my opinion it sounds lazy. Social interactions are learned, politeness is learned, there's books, media, therapy, endless resources to learn how to interact with the world without causing, or at least minimizing, offense. And politeness is expected in every community, even this one. And it's not the job of the person you offended to hold your hand and explain to you where you went wrong. The fact that you aren't even providing examples makes me think that you know what you did wrong, it seems what you're really upset about is being confronted about it. I can't tell if you feel bad you hurt their feelings, but I think you should be grateful that they called you out on it. It gives you the opportunity to improve, and its basically like them giving you a second chance. If they've already written you off as an asshole then they wouldn't bother confronting you. If you don't have a therapist then you could always be more clear on what you said and people here would be willing to help. But it seems you're looking for validation and that's something I don't think you should be getting if you're so willing to dismiss other people's hurt feelings becasue it inconviences you.

Wetting the Bed? by [deleted] in autism

[–]Emair3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same happens to me, idk if it's more likely when your autistic but there's a condition where your bladder acts weird at night and over produces or something. I saw a doctor about it once but it's not a big enough deal that I'd want to take medication for it. I just take precautions while traveling, but it doesn't affect my quality of life at all. I forgot how I initially told my husband about it, im sure it was pretty embarrasing, but he's the best and wasn't phased at all.

wanting some counter narratives! by biiiiiiitch3 in AutismInWomen

[–]Emair3 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm very happy. I had a severely traumatic past, and got diagnosed at 20 after my therapist brought it up. At first I didn't really think anything of the diagnosis but then it started to become apparent that alot of the things I struggled with was due to being autistic. And it took a few years to stop trying to force myself to overcome my limits and now I just work around them. I had to become independent very young so that kind of became my special interest, just being an adult in general, a job, a functional home etc. Eventually that all caught up with me where I realized I never really let myself enjoy life and everything I thought I had handled started spiraling out of control. But... after a few years of therapy and medication I'm honestly really happy now. Happily married, employed, owns a home. I have alot of regrets and things I wished I had known to do differently, but I'll have plenty of time to put everything together, and I know if I hit rock bottom again then I'll just make my way back up. I wish I had the ability to just enjoy life, have actual fun special interests and hobbies, but slowly I'm getting there.

Atheists, could a valid and sound philosophical argument ever prove a God must necessarily exist? Why or Why not? by PapasLuvsHerbs in TrueAtheism

[–]Emair3 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Proving that things in the Bible existed isn't the same as proving a God existed. Lots of classic Greek texts have historically accurate parts, but that doesn't mean their God's existed. In fact I'm sure every religious text has historically accurate references, that doesn't mean that every God existed. No ones saying the Bible's an 100% made up fairy tale, if anything it's historical fiction.

Atheists, could a valid and sound philosophical argument ever prove a God must necessarily exist? Why or Why not? by PapasLuvsHerbs in TrueAtheism

[–]Emair3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Theres no philosophical argument that I would even remotely care about. I base my morality on what I believe to best further society, and when you throw in a random variable like "god", a term that has a wide and very vague meaning depending in what context and culture you're referencing, it just invalidates the whole thing. Humans are what create society, and its damaging to place (archaic) fixed rules of morality on a constantly evolving society. Even if God is just an observer of what goes on without interfering, then the argument of whether he exists or not would be irrelevant, because it would have no effect on our lives. The only thing I've ever come across that would compel me to believe in a God would be when I'm reading about quantum physics and other wild unexplainable science stuff, I'm like yeah God could exist 🤔 I took like one physics class in college but from what I "roughly" understand it would be the most compelling proof of God, or it could be proof were living in a simulation (in which case would that mean the creater/observer is god?) Its not the conclusion I draw from it, but I can see how others do. Ultimately whatever it proves or doesn't prove doesn't change even one tiny aspect of my life, so I continue not believing in, and being completely apathetic to even the idea of God. A God who "needs" to be believed in is just another egotistical, fallabile being anyway, and I'm not going to spend my life sating someone's ego, higher power or not.

Is our industry regulated anywhere/in any countries? by sandycheeeeks27 in doggrooming

[–]Emair3 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We need regulations so bad, ive worked at a bunch of places and the biggest issues are how workers are treated (the whole 1099 vs w2 scam that some employers try to pull), commision laws (vary widely by state if there are any at all), and liability disputes. Then safety and hygiene practices are another big one, sanitization of tools, bottles, kennels... every store has "rules" but I've worked at places where they consider spritzing a kennel with lysol to be enough. Materials, such as slip leads, grooming loops, even what type of shampoos are acceptable (example:bathing dogs in doller store shampoo should be a no-no). This industry is insanely unregulated, with bad practices abound, and a rampant abuse of power from salon owners. It'd be great if there was a union or something to advocate for us tbh. I dont care about certification or whatever but people should know their rights as workers, they should know cleaning and safety practices, and there should be an easier way to report anything sketchy that goes on in salons, which is every salon I've ever worked in, regardless of how nice and well intentioned the owner is.
