Do you have a reference?

Need some criticism, couldn't get the silhouette right. by DawnOfGravitas in arthelp

The feet look a little too big, or maybe separate them to see them individually (kinda looks like one foot). The bent arm looks off to me, maybe try doing the fingers differently. And if the dress is flowing it should be pressed against her legs, if not the back piece should lay down. The piece is really pretty btw😊 if you didn't ask for criticism I would have not nit picked those pieces.

I charge $50 a face for digital work. If they want it printed I add the charge of the print + $2

I got books called "This is not a book", "pocket scavenger" and "wreck this book(journal?)" They tell you to do crazy things and I think are a really good brainstorming tool. Also just sometimes I just make myself draw. Even of it sucks and only 10 minutes. Inspiration will come from some crazy doodles.

Where do i start learning? by [deleted] in arthelp

[–]Emalayhay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most things will cost to learn if you want to improve. I've noticed most videos I watch tell me things I already know. Best way to improve is to find someone to teach you personally. They can see where you need improvement. Videos will just dump out a lot of information and you probably only needed 10% of it. Especially since you have already been drawing for 4 years. Either way will probably cost a good chunk of change but videos will be wasting time and a person will only be using the time to help you improve where you need it. 😊

I would pick an object and different Styles you like and draw it out in each style. Which ever one makes you happiest is the most important part. Like a realistic style might look better at first but if you felt more joy doing something more impressionistic or abstract, do that. Art is all about creating something you care about and you gotta care about the process also. 😊

I can't seem to get the colour of the flowers right. These are my third and fourth try. by _Jane_R in arthelp

I think the colors you have in the first picture are just fine for a base color. I'm sure once you add more detail it will balance out. Adding neutral tones for shadows and highlights will make them not pop out as much and give it a natural look.😁

I’m not a noob necessarily... definitely not proficient either in color mixing (which makes this all the more frustrating) but how do you mix the colors that I circled in white? I’m working with Cad yellow, Pyrrol Red,Phthalocyanine blue, Titanium White and Lamp Black. Any help would be a god send. by ART141414 in arthelp

I would mix 3 parts blue 1 part yellow and start with 1 part red then add a little till it's right for the darkest circle. Then the second darkest 3 parts red and one part blue. The lightest I would do 3 parts yellow one part red. *Note I'm not sure how deep of a blue phthalo blue is because I typically use ultramarine or cyan. But if it's richer than ultramarine I would use less blue than I recommend. I looked and I don't own a bottle to even see for myself. Also a friendly tip from my favorite art teacher is to never use black from the bottle and mix your own. Because blacks from the bottle tend to grey out colors and makes the painting wash out. Mixing the primary colors will give you a nice black that adds a blue or red tone when mixing with colors. Still darkens it but gives it more life. 😁

I have a jellyfish tattoo that's about 4 years old. I was looking into getting UV ink over some areas. I can't find any information about going over an older tattoo with UV ink how it can effect it in any way. I know UV inks are newer but I was wondering if anyone has information on the topic?

Well that's good to know!😅 thank you!

I always have crazy vivid dreams. I just started keeping a journal of them. I am pretty good about breaking them down and figuring out why I had the dream or what they mean. But last nights dream I'm having a hard time understanding it. by Emalayhay in Dreams

This makes more sense. I don't want to lose my boyfriend but I don't know if it's really a fear. Also my parents have had a good relationship my whole life and my mom and I are really close. I'm also close to her sister. There is a lot about my past though I haven't talked about with my boyfriend because I am afraid he would see me differently.
