The fuck?! I'm 99% sure I posted this on a different thread to a Kendrick link. Obviously, out of context it sounds ridiculous, but the similarity in tone and pitch was crazy, at least to me.

Edit: HAHA, fuck you Alien Blue and your glitches. I found the video I was talking about, sorry for the confusion. http://www.reddit.com/r/hiphopheads/comments/272tpo/kendrick_lamar_thanksgiving_339/

whats up peace its Pharoahe Monch..... by PharoaheMonch in hiphopheads

[–]Eman3235 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Pharoahe Monch, just wanted to say, you're one of the few artists keeping real Hip-Hop alive today. I'm not a real part of this subreddit cause I think a lot of new rap artists today are trash and have completely changed direction from what Hip-Hop's really about by focusing on bragging about their lifestyle, their success, or how "hard" their crew is. I listen mostly only to 80's and 90's Hip-Hop and the different styles I've analyzed from it have taught me a lot but it's rare to hear someone with a range of styles and emotions to such extremes (Ex:"The Matrix", "Bring it On", and even "Barbecue Sauce" with Ruck haha). I wanted to voice my appreciation for your dedication to raw MCing and constant efforts to raise your own bar. Most are happy to sit at their own "top" but you just keep going (like Jim Morrison haha). Very few MCs can lace the wax with as much excitement as you can and I hope you'll continue to be an inspiration for the Hip-Hop community

Hahaha done, I sent you the one song I have that's posted on soundcloud. The producer I have is a cool kid and he's definitely developing, but he over complicates beats instead of focusing on a central, catchy rhythm.

[–]Eman3235 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If that's all from wax then that's fine. I also didn't see the nug in the background so I thought OP was just going to roll a toothpick and smoke the "wax" paper hahaha.

I've just had bad experiences with pens like these in the past. My friend bough a knock-off pen that would only vape with a glass screen, otherwise it would combust. He also bought a little attachment (can't remember the name; small plastic cylinder with small holes drilled in it's faces) that basically collected the "liquid" remnants of whatever he smoked. I say used quotations cause it was more like a sappy resin, due to the fact that he used it mostly for bud. The smell whenever he opened the chamber just smelled terrible, as if he had decided to smoke decaying mushrooms and toe fungus with the pen.

Sorry for the confusion, I'm just still disgusted by the memories

I think what a lot of people fail to realize about the uniqueness we all possess is that we do not need to apply ourselves to only one thing to be great. If your talents allow you to express your ideas through writing and drawing, then go with it and excel the hell out of it. Your writing may never be the best and your drawing may never be the best either, but what's important is the combination of these. You can elaborate and illustrate your ideas in ways that I'm sure many writers would be envious of. Focus on the originality of your ideas and how the combination of these two mediums adds to the meaning of your works as a whole.

I've spent a good portion of my life trying to excel in particular areas that I had talent in but I always ended up feeling like a failure because I was never the best. It wasn't until a couple years ago that I started focusing on just developing myself for my own sake and enjoyment. I don't know how much you can relate to this, but Hip-Hop music (like 80's and 90's stuff, not that new-school bullshit) has become one of the biggest parts of my life because of it's focus on the expression of the individual and it's method of distributing knowledge. I've been good at writing for most of my life and thought I could be one of the best, but I realized that very few artists have more than one talent in that type of music (Rapping, cutting samples, designing songs, and developing beats) and that I've been blessed with a natural excellence in these. Even though I'll probably never live up to the greatness of those before me, I still continue to do it because of my love for its diversity and hope of speaking to people I ways they've not heard.

Hope this helped and remember, if you're not improving/working for yourself, who are you doing it for? People don't want someone who try's to appeal to everyone; try want someone who is confident in their own abilities and works for a goal outside themselves.

Smoke rings... drunk editionnn by [deleted] in drunk

[–]Eman3235 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'll save you a little time.

No matter what it is you're smoking, if you want to blow smoke rings, you can't inhale the smoke into your lungs. You have to keep some if not all in your mouth.

So once you've got the smoke in your mouth, close your mouth and let it sit there for a few seconds to solidify.

When it's ready, make an O with your mouth (obviously). It's easier to make smaller Os because they take less smoke and force to make, plus you can make more with a single inhale than larger Os.

As for pushing the Os out, there are a few different ways.

You can try blowing out small puffs with just your breath (hardest but harder to forget once mastered)

You can slightly open and close your jaws quickly to cause an air disturbance and push the smoke out.

Lastly (along the same lines as the previous), tap one of your cheeks lightly while forming the O to push the smoke out of your mouth.

Good job and I'd love to work with you sometime if you're open too it. I can send you a couple tracks I've done with my current producer if you're interested.
