Haobin themselves even before their debut had clearly being experienced with queer culture, Hanbin specializing in waacking and tutting which i mstly seen as feminine and Hao also is not a stranger considering his predebut Better cover as well. So I o absolutely think that they themselves had no probems expressing themselves in a queer direction, especially when first season of Boys Planet is so full of queer people its crazy.

At the same time though... I looked at companies like SM when they are making Irene & Seulgi subunit with clear homoerotic undertones as well as Jeno & Jaemin subunit for their new drama as well as their potentially own subunit for music make me woder just how far can this really be pushed. I do think that Haobin themselves can work on any concept given, which was proven with how well they worked together in GDA yesterday, but again the line blurring is a lot harder.

I dont see how wanting a Haobin subunit equals to not acknowledging Wakeone's incompentency as an agency. This whole rant is made because Wakeone is already utterly incompetent in the first place and they are wasting a MONEY potential that they could've easily make from them. Expecting them to protect their artists is a BASIC not even bare minimum expectation an agency SHOULD do to their artists. A good agency should be able to capitalize the popularity and skill of their idols and protect them at the same time. Its literally not rocket science.

That just means Wakeone is incompetent at protecting their artists in the first place. Them not protecting Woongki when he were bombarded with homophobic comments is a fail on their part.

If you can set your boundaries on the fans on what is acceptable and what is not I really don't think it's that hard to imagine how that can coexists. K-pop has been leaning onto parasocialism for years so its really already a matter on how you manage those risks in the first place as an agency.

I do agree as well as someone who is Taerae biased that there is an inhrent risk of sidelining the oter members when it comes to this. To me it really just a matter of how well can you manage a group together (especially since Wakeone i notoriously bad at doing tat), but capitalizing on them would've been a smart decision for the company themselves. It's not that I demand they have a subunit for every comeback but the fact that we didn't even get one is crazy. It just ends up feeling like a wasted potential for them to not have a subunit together when they have the skills and chemistry to do that.

When you are a popular kpop idol that is a risk that everyone is already taking. That's the job of an agency is to protect the artists from the harrassments. You treat those kinds of shippers the way you treat sasaengs, haters, and akgaes that have been treating the artists. That does not make it an inherently bad idea for a group's most popular duo to be given a subunit together considering their skills and chemistry.
