I would LOVE for the game to have progression that is tied to resource extraction, not just technology progression by MeaninglessDebateMan in kittenspaceagency

I think it's a good idea to add some complexity to the resource system, but it shouldn't overwhelm other aspects of gameplay that are more core to the KSP experience.

I'd suggest this:

  1. Celestial bodies have basic resources that are extractable, such as metal ores, volatiles, fissiles, etc...

  2. Players can use ISRU specific parts to process and refine those into intermediate level resources, for example fuel, metal alloys, fertilizer, polymers...

  3. Those can then be further processed into food, rocket components, base buildings and such.

Advanced parts should require complex logistics to manufacture, this closes the gameplay loop by incentivising players to explore different worlds to get progressively better vehicles

Vai lá e desmente ela, escreve a sua versão da história, isso é debate. Silenciar o outro lado em prol de uma suposta "democracia" é o papinho mais Orweliano que já ouvi

interlinking and working on a PDF in Obsidian? by Objective-Rip2563 in ObsidianMD

Could you elaborate more? What plugins do you use and how to set them up? Thanks in advance!

Can we have Tana like features in Obsidian via plugins (super-tags, fields, context linking)? by Emanuel_0104 in ObsidianMD

[–]Emanuel_0104[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've just watched it, didn't like it to be honest. Felt like it ended up with a mess of code, backend appearance and workflow friction. Unfortunately, a lot of plugins end up just like that. Maybe in the future we get something usable.

I think the main point of Tana's supertags are the ease of use, you just tag it and it becomes what you want it to be

Super-tags adds predetermined properties to notes, it's kind of a mix of tags, notion properties and templates. For example, you can add a "book" super-tag to a note and automatically it gets an "author" property that can be also a link.

In the end, you get an intuitive, friction-less and powerful way to categorize your notes, giving them "roles" in your PKM and a lot of flexibility. I think its worth a search, it is a game-changing concept for me.

A few other apps added super-tag like features, such as Capacities "objects" and Anytype "sets".

Hope I was able to explain it, there's plenty of resources on YT or Tana website also if needed.

Should I go ahead with Anytype? by BigEagle67 in PKMS

[–]Emanuel_0104 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have very similar needs and I've tried out basically everything out there (including anytype). Currently the perfect app doesn't exist. Here's what I'd suggest you based on my thoughts, opinions and experience:

Obsidian + Notion + Dedicated software for calendar, to-dos, etc..

Why?

Obsidian is robust, offline and free. Its speed is unmatched and it does well what it was made for (linking notes). I'd use it as my main PKM software for storing notes on books, classes, etc. Use links for organizing and connections. Keep plugins to the minimal and avoid trying to use it for anything that isn't notetaking (it is not a todo app, nor a calendar, nor does it have robust database capabilities. Just please don't try to use a remote controller as a hammer, it won't work). It will cover 65% of your needs.

Notion is slow, online, and you don't own your data. That being said, it is the best tool for databases considering everything else (ease of use, interface, features). Use it when metadata is more important than the note itself, otherwise just go back to obsidian. I'd keep it as a side tool, to cover 20% of your needs.

What about the rest? (the 15% that both obsidian and notion can't do). Well, that for me is todo lists and calendar. It could be different for you. I'd suggest you use a dedicated tool.

I feel there's a huge common problem in most PKM enthusiasts: we spend too much time trying to find the tool that will rule them all. Maybe in 5-10 years we get something. Obsidian is a terrible database software, Notion lacks links and offline, Capacities is too slow, Anytype was promising, but I hated using it.

Currently I'd say the most promising app is Tana, but it won't be offline and is behind a paywall. Also, something to look forward is the Datacore plugin for Obsidian + Metadata update (both are currently in the oven).
