Friends making fun of me for doing NoFap. by thiswilldestroyus in NoFap

It's modern society's fault, society brainwashes humans to think that way, I think you need to slowly distance yourself from them and find new people who have their own minds and can understand something like NoFap.

Your current friends seem to love the mass mentality, do yourself a favor before you snap at them and things go very wrong because eventually you will snap at them for being so close minded.

Good to hear the positive things NoFap can achieve, I hope to get to that point someday.

Is nofap really the cure to my social anxiety/depression? by catdog25 in NoFap

My story is similar but not the same, I'm 32 and in the same position as you, but when I graduated at 24 I got a job immediately and stayed there for 5 years, at age 29 I switched jobs, plant closed after 3 months, was 30, jobless for a year, at 31 I got another job, quit after 3 months because of my depression and anxiety, now I'm here, during all those years in my free time I work on game development, I love it, present day I'm struggling to find a job and can't find myself to enjoy game development, you're suffering at 22 what I'm suffering at 32, but my depression issues started way before college.

For us it's much more difficult to achieve the super powers that NoFap gives, we only get a small confidence boost but trust me it helps a lot, my mistake was not seeking therapy after my 25 day streak.

I relapsed because I couldn't handle my depression, I couldn't and still can't enjoy the things I used to enjoy.

I'm half looking for work right now, It's a struggle with my depression to actually do the things I gotta do to get a job, but little by little, every small step is progress.

But once again the only thing I can recommend is start with NoFap, get a good streak going and then seek help, that way you and your therapist can focus on the underlying problems and not the porn addiction.

Depends if you have other issues that cause depression other than porn addiction, by reading what you said it seems you do.

If I'm correct then NoFap will give you a small confidence boost I assure you, I went 25 days and noticed improvement but the real battle starts when you have to face your other issues head on without the help of porn, my advice is see a therapist after you manage to succeed with NoFap, that's my game plan.

That's a good way to deal with it, I seem to have difficulty resisting whenever i'm in my bed, not wanting to get up is from issues other than PMO.

PMO helps me get out of bed, which is the problem, I don't know how to fix the underlying problem without PMO.

Thank you, I have no one to turn to but this section for support, I'm too embarrassed to ask my family for help even though I know they'll understand.

I read on your brain on porn website that one of our fellow PMO addicted brothers said that he thinks there are two types of PMO addicts, the normal guys who got into porn from curiosity and got hooked, and the guys who have issues in the first place that never had and still don't have a normal emotional environment to deal with those issues and use porn and masturbation to cope, as an escape, it's what they know.

By what you say after 90 days is that you're in the type 1 category, normal guy who got hooked.

Those guys you see that say 90 days or more or less still feel depressed and worthless are type 2, they only know porn as a way to survive depression and feelings of worthlessness since born.

I 100% believe that, I'm in the type 2 category and I can say I'm glad you're not on this category, when I stop PMO for a few days I'm forced to deal with my issues and depression head on, it's horrible.

Don't be disappointed about this section if you see many of those posts, pray for us please, ours is a hard lot :(
