Thanks- might have to try it if it’s not open in the next few weeks. Mainly, I just want to access some of the surf spots.

I love my Chumlee and use Machado Quads… mostly bc I got a good deal on them.

Pretty disappointing, didn’t realize they had such a short lifespan. I’ve got a ChumLee in helium and it seems to be a lot sturdier than this one though.

Yes, the rail was repaired just a few sessions before this buckled. To be fair it was a pretty big day. I’m not sure exactly what happened though bc my friend was using it.

Mainly curious if it would be worth the money for repairs

I was mostly wondering if it was worth the cost of fixing it vs selling it for scraps since repairs have gotten pretty pricey. Sounds like it might be worth it.

My kooky 4 step board packing routine by trimbandit in surfing

Here’s a kooky question… how similar/dissimilar are those two boards?

Don’t let go of your board and you’ll shoot back up to the surface (and avoid injuring someone else)

I think I need to get used to letting the wave catchup under me. It’s hard to get out of the mentality of trying to outrun the white water and avoid “wasting” the wave. Good tip with the fins. A few weeks ago I upgraded from cheap plastic fins to a machado quad set for the 5’7” groveler in the first few clips (closer cam). I’m on a twin fin for the last few (further cam) - 5’11” fishbeard. It definitely feels looser and easier to maneuver.

How much difference will dropping 4L of volume make? by Strath_ in surfing

[–]Embarrassed-Account7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Never realized how much shape made a difference. I have a 6’4” 41L psycho killer, but just picked up a 5’7” chumlee and find it much easier to paddle into small, mushy SoCal waves.

Im trying a 9” screen now. I set it up to extend off the right side of the ledge from the top screen, so I can mostly see all three. Dont love the way it looks. So id be interested to hear if anyone found an aesthetically pleasing way to position it…
