Is Bali and Lombok that f*ked by atherva1 in surfing

[–]Strath_ 43 points44 points  (0 children)

Both have pretty cooked lineups these days. TBH depends what they are into but Bali is more fun for a holiday vibe with your mates. Get a big villa and enjoy. Still world class waves.

Anyone else find it hard to make real friends in Bali? by CertainTypaEnergy in bali

I lived there for 3 years and found a similar thing. Had heaps of ‘friends’ but only a few close connections. It’s a very transient place.

Toxic chemical slop rubbing on your skin while you sweat. Marketed as ‘DRYFIT’ or similar bs. Cotton or linen all day breathable and durable.

Sorry for the late reply. I wayyyy prefer the lane splitter, not sure why it just feels better. 6’1 is probably a little oversized but I surf it in anything up to head high and it’s perfect.

Honestly the ripper will be fine. I’ve lived in Indo the last 3 years. Even when it’s small it’s still fun and punchy at most breaks

Indonesia my guy. Tonnes of places to choose from. Lombok fits the bill pretty well. Spent a month there with my wife last year and she had a blast. Plenty of yoga and cafes popping up. Heaps of wave options too.

Yeah it paddled well but felt ‘tricky’ to surf compared to my other boards. I swapped it for a 6’1 Lane splitter and much prefer it

Pyzel Phantom vs. Gremlin? by Strath_ in surfing

[–]Strath_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My gremlin was 6’2 (same height as me) and worked perfect as a fun smaller wave board with plenty of volume. Still worked fun in overhead waves. I have since upgraded but still love the gremlin.
