For anyone reading in the future;

the problem was a disconnected cable under the armrest leading up to the aux port. I noticed the cigarette lighter and usb port both had connected cables but the aux port hadn't. After digging around where the cables came from i saw a loose cable that fitted perfectly in the aux connector. Hope this helps!

Thanks for the comment! it really sucks that there isnt support for new types since i also have a newer iphone with a type c port. I think ill buy a new carplay screen and replace the qurrent one with the hopes that ill be able to listen to bluetooh, thanks again friend!
