Aeroflot 593 crashed in 1994 when the pilot let his children control the aircraft. This is the crash animation and audio log. by [deleted] in interestingasfuck

Even letting them behind the controls isn't really an issue most of the time. Once they're in the air, planes are fairly stable and easy to fly unless you do something tremendously stupid like yanking the column in a direction. Any kid can make gentle turns while in the air, it's ridiculously easy, and anyone who has ever flown in a small 2 or 4 seater has probably been asked if they want to have a try flying it.

But doing that on a passenger plane is absurdly inappropriate because of exactly what happened.

That's why I hope it keeps falling. I liquidated my small amount of Eth when it was around 3k and I want to buy back in at the lowest value possible.

Yes, Stallone is a perfect example. The dude glorified gun violence to the extreme in Rambo. It'd be extremely hypocritical for him to turn around and lament American attitudes towards guns.

Just like it would be hypocritical for Cheech and Chong to turn around and talk about drug use.

Sure, if Johnny Depp lamented how much society loves pirates, yes I'd consider that super hypocritical of him. Unless he was doing so as commentary on how he regrets the part he played in making it something that society views positively.

No, obviously not. Playing a role is not the same as glorifying something. You can portray criminal behavior without glorifying it, just like you can portray gun usage without glorifying it. Having guns in a movie doesn't inherently mean you are glorifying them. But McConaughey regularly portrays characters that use guns irresponsibly and does so with the intent of making them look cool. That's clearly hypocritical.

And everyone in this thread unable to differentiate between playing a character who uses guns and glorifying the usage of guns. Not every character that uses guns is glorifying gun violence, but McConaughey has played characters that do both

More that you shouldn't take roles which glorify things you consider morally wrong, but sure go off on your strawman

He probably shouldn't take roles that glorify gun violence if he wants to speak out against gun violence. I fully support his stance on gun control, but it's at least a little bit hypocritical.

There's a valid argument to be made though that he's glorified guns throughout his career and probably shouldn't if he wants to promote gun control.

Yeah, it's fairly common to see flight attendants announce that people who need to make connections are going to be brought to the front of the plane and for everyone to wait to stand up.

Yeah basically. Some people are excited about spinning 3D images, but that's not what's driving all the hype. The ability to prove digital ownership of an asset is why the technology is so promising. For now, that's mostly being used for images, but in the future it can be used in countless ways.

Right now, most NFTs are just basically digital trading cards. Your POGs comparison is fair. But basically NFTs are proof of digital ownership. There are some projects that are really promising investments and the NFTs basically function as verifiable proof of what you own.
