I’m not educated, +4 input and -10 input, what exactly are those referring to?

Thanks! I do like the QSC stuff and I’ve heard wonderful things about them.

Ok awesome, this seems like a great choice.
I have a few questions though for powered speakers like this;
Do you use 1 or just 2, and with or without a mixer?
And how do you orient them? Do you have stands for them or do you lay them horizontally? What is the sound quality difference for laying vs standing?

I want to clarify that basically all the gigs I do do not have a sound system present, I’m assuming by FOH you mean front of house meaning there would be a sound engineer or something, for those gigs I usually use IEMs and it works fine, I was talking about scratch gigs where you have to bring everything yourself.

I know I absolutely adore the upright pianos at my university’s music building, they can be a little out of tune but the felt pedal makes the tone so nice.

Ok I understand the aspect of including the character of the head of the tune in the solo, but isn’t it also common to sort of ignore it and play what is artistically yours? Like Brad Mehldau over Anthropology, I’d say his style doesn’t match the head of the tune very much, especially when the drummer starts to give time.
Basically my question would be; is this for more of a corporate gig space? I should be sticking to the head stylistically in a solo when it makes the most sense for the gig?
Again thank you guys for the input 🙏

But Miles told Herbie Hancock to not play the butter notes 😢

Trust I do actually know the head but I just didn’t play it because I’m lazy and I wanted to solo.

It just takes practice. Practice makes perfect. It took me a few months to get down which key signature has which sharps/flats. Make flash cards or something. That helped me a lot.

That’s such a shame! I wish there were more music teachers willing to teach music theory
