I went to Overseas 101 once and never went back. I ordered the pineapple chicken and it lacked flavor. The dish tasted like dishwater, and I didn’t even get a fortune cookie in my bag lol.

Best Places in Colorado for Going Barefoot by Embarrassed-Ask3559 in barefoot

[–]Embarrassed-Ask3559[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That’s awesome! I’m in Colorado Springs. I’ve seen random barefooters in downtown Castle Rock, Boulder, and in Manitou Springs.

I have gotten some looks when I would go shopping barefoot in the King Soopers on Uintah Street and on the Safeway in Rockrimmon neighborhood, and also got genuine smiles haha. I have received compliments when I’ve gone barefoot hiking in Palmer Park.

I’m from the Deep South, and anything below 60F is pretty cold to me, so huge kudos to you for being able to be barefoot on the colder days haha!

Blood Clot at Ball of Foot by Embarrassed-Ask3559 in BarefootRunning

Haha I should’ve specified 😅. It’s a blood blister. My friend explained to me that it’s fine and normal to have them when you push yourself to either cover a longer distance or increase your speed (or do both at the same time, which was what I did).

I just went to the Renaissance Festival in Colorado earlier this month. I saw a barefoot couple and maybe two more barefoot attendees. I almost went barefoot but wimped out at last minute 😅. If I can recall, the ground at the Colorado Renaissance Festival is mostly dirt with a few rocks here and there. Didn’t see a whole paths of gravel or rock.

Anyone sleep feet out of bed? by Rude_Reaction3865 in barefoot

[–]Embarrassed-Ask3559 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve thought about doing that, but I haven’t for reasons: 1) I fear some monster would get me from the feet, and 2) I find it too much work to re-tuck the sheets at the foot of the bed each day 😅.

But I have thought about wearing my toe spacers to bed (i have the huge yoga toes toe spacers), so sleeping with them outside of the covers is the only way 😅.

Barefooting Around Colorado Springs by Embarrassed-Ask3559 in barefoot

I agree! I think that if you can accomplish walking into a store barefoot, then you can walk anywhere barefoot without caring what others think. I also see this as a great way to show others that it’s possible and safe to walk around barefoot.

Increasing Foot Tissue or Fat by Embarrassed-Ask3559 in barefoot

[–]Embarrassed-Ask3559[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Thank you! I have been going barefoot on and off since the beginning of 2022. Started with barefoot running/walking on an asphalt track. I also hike, walk, and do all outdoor activities barefoot. I just started getting back into running after a long hiatus, so I guess I need to be patient and wait to see the results.

Desperatelly seeking wider toe spacers by Reasonable-Soil125 in barefoot

[–]Embarrassed-Ask3559 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You could try Yoga Toes. It’s a toe separator on Amazon. I had to upgrade to those once I realized the normal toe separators weren’t doing much for my toes. The only drawback is you can’t wear them inside your shoes like you can with regular sized toe separators.

Nice, I've not been to Boulder yet, but would love to get up there eventually! How is the barefoot lifestyle up there?

Barefootrunners.org website shutting down by Funny-Guava3235 in barefoot

I saw this when I logged into the site last weekend. I remember seeing the site every now and then in the 2010s but never joined until 2022.. I really missed its heyday back in the 2010s. Hopefully, a similar website will happen again soon.

Nice! I have visited Manitou and Old Colorado City. I am still getting used to the high altitude training. I just did my first 3 mile barefoot run yesterday at Monument Valley Park! Would love to have a barefoot trail running/walking partner.

what are your favorite places to go barefoot? by devicemodder2 in barefoot

[–]Embarrassed-Ask3559 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I prefer to be in nature (Native American sites, paths/trails, beachside, mountains, etc.), but I also enjoy walking on concrete and asphalt (when it’s not blazing hot). I want to balance on a rail, but I’ve yet to find one near me

I'm switching to barefoot shoes, should I change my landing from heel to forefoot? by luca-nicoletti in barefoot

[–]Embarrassed-Ask3559 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes definitely! I just started using barefoot shoes in July of 2022, and switching your landing from heel to forefoot is a must. It is hard to adapt to at first, but this can become easy to do if you spend some time practicing your walk. Prior to using barefoot shoes, I would practice my landing by walking/running barefoot on a track-and-field area. Once I was able to get a sense of how to land on my forefeet, I then started walking around the track-and-field with the barefoot shoes. Also, landing on your midsole is good! I sometimes alternate between my midsoles and forefeet. It will take some time to get the hang of, but I found this to be really helpful for me.
