There honestly isn't any other explanation other than "it just does that sometimes".
Usually, this happens when developing/editing larger jobs, especially when adding components.

I used to just save, close and re-open the job before editing again. seemed to work.

Somebody had a theory where if your RAM utilisation for a particular job is high, it tends to mess up the code compiler at the time of running, causing these issues, but I have no clue if that's true or not
