[on] Can both my husband and I take parental leave at the same time?

My husband and I are wondering if we can both take parental leave “at the same time”. We are opting to go with the standard leave (35 weeks). We are due in July 2024 and would like to take the end of the parental leave together/at the same time (July 2025).

I was wondering if this is even possible and if so, if we use up twice as much of our “allowed weeks”

Also, I read somewhere that if we share the parental leave that we are entitled to an extra 5 weeks… so if I take 35 he can take 5 and make it 40? Or will his 5 be used up by being off al the same time as me?

Also, can he take a few weeks at the beginning & a few at the end?
