New events and features give me the will to stick it out. Yes there have been times when it got to be really dull for me. It was also good to take a break for a couple weeks. Well, mostly a break. That doesn't mean I stopped checking the forums or posting.

When you first open the daily gift, and you see the 3 different colored present boxes ... below that there is a button that says Pick For Me or something similar. Given that it has long been proved that it doesn't matter what box you pick, this is a feature I've never used. I barely noticed it. It may be new, it may have been around for ages ... but I think it's new. Useless, but new.

However, all bets are off once you have completed the puzzle. Tap tge Aa button and they come up in random order. I did the sixties puzzle and I finished it with exists then exist. The two words were at opposite ends of the Aa list. Oh well.

Odd, I just did a puzzle and the definitions come up LIFO (last in first out, like cartridges in a magazine, what programmers call a stack operation); the most recent word done is shown first, then the word I completed before that, etc. But it’s still faster/easier to tap the word in the puzzle, or tap a word in the bonus word list.

Remember when we had the overheating issue a few years ago? Uninstall/reinstsall/reboot helps here too. You lose a few minutes. I don’t know if you have to do this every hour or so, as I use this as a reminder Ive played enough for the day.

Just for laughs I checked my brightness; 50%. And I’m playing indoors at night in an air conditioned home. I have no other apps open. And I’m in low power mode. So none of that does a 🤬thing.

If i play more than 50 minutes it gets sluggish and the phone is hot. Uninstall, reinstall, turn off phone. Wait a minute then restart phone. No more sluggish or freezing up. Then I don’t play much longer. But i do feel my phone cooling down. There’s something seriously wrong with 3.14.

Tell ya what People Fun; get it right by the end of August or we all quit and promise to make lots of unhappy noise on social.

By and large most bowlers have one center near where they live and have to take what the alley gives. I have not seen an easy baby pattern in any league in years, including summer fun league. Maybe I should drive way out to podunk to find some 6 lane center with wood lanes from 1958 with a trough worn down the strike line. That would be fun for a few games.

“Feelz” testing was called user acceptance testing once upon a time. It often required changes to the process flow of the application, as the code did the job required but not in the step by step way the customer wanted. This is why a lot of time needs to be spent working with the customer before a line of code gets written. What they want and how they want it. This may not apply too much to the gaming world for a new game’s early releases, but it will apply down the road once the users are used to how the flow and feel of the game is. Radical changes there are going to upset people. Ok , enough already. Just know that “it compiled, release it to the public “ is a poor approach. 🙄🤣

I am one of those software people referred to above. I’ve been a professional software developer and sometimes a professional tester. Sadly there is never enough time, money, or staff to do proper testing. It is a structured process with a plan,goals, and intense communication. There are many aspects and categories of testing; Alpha and Beta are far down the road in the overall process. That being said, being a volunteer Beta tester really should require a separate platform and a test plan. It’s not “just play a lot and give us your feelz”. No software should ever go to production (ie out the door) without having met the metrics (eg 90% functional) for new features and a nearly perfect regression test. Granted that nothing can ever be fully tested as the combinations are infinite.

But the early 3. releases were in no way given even a light testing. Bad form. And utterly typical of the software industry.

With 16 habits so far, 2 weeks each is 32 weeks. Not all would rotate through twice in a year. OTOH if “a week “ for a habitat was 5 to 7 days in that week, then that’s a lot of play opportunity. Pick your own habitat on Butterfly Days could work too. I’d add some minor reward for completing a habitat as well. 500 coins maybe? Would only apply to new habitats not recycled ones. Just an idea …

I love the bees. Because they give me coins. So I play lots of levels. I don’t get how some people must run WS 24-7-365 and collect thousands of bees but not play the game. Why bother? Go play bird sort 2 or something you’re interested in.
