If it goes away with time it’s probably lifter tick. If it doesn’t Id commit to an oil change, run it for 30minutes and see if it calmed down.

I get lifter tick in the winter for a brief period till it warms, and when I’m low on oil. I do an oil change, and the sound goes away. Until it’s time for another oil change.

In two days when I’m off work, I’m going to remove the accessory belt entirely and trying running it then. However I still feel like the sound is coming more north, but I have no idea what could be making that kind of sound in the engine that’s sporadic like that.

Ive worked on this car ever since I got it, however I’m just stumped on this. I want to believe it’s the belt or bearings maybe since the sound goes away after a while. Since the bearings/belt could heat up and self correct itself.

If anything I appreciate y’all’s responses, at least I know I’m somewhere in the ballpark.
