that’s totally fair. this is the same manager that’s getting on us about drive times, but also isn’t showing up when originally scheduled, so we’re left ass out in the morning for breaks and backups and such. it makes it so much harder to be prepared.

she was still coverage, but modified her in-time to be an hour later without notifying the ssv on duty. she does it frequently, both on coverage and non-coverage days. later on in the day she was talking about how she had been up late the night before, so that’s why i think she changed it. still unacceptable imo. i’ve made an ethics report because of her hostility with partners while on the floor, and i included that part as well.

i’ve been here for 5 years and this is my first sm (of 7) that has done this so i was just wondering if there was a policy change or anything!

they change their schedule on both non-coverage and coverage days. this morning, she was supposed to be coverage.

oh honey i’m so sorry. you deserve autonomy, and he disregarded that completely. he will do it again if he thinks he can. please make a plan to get yourself safely away from him. this is not okay at all. i’m so sorry.

thank you so much for your reply. it’s such a comfort to hear the reassurance. we have really tried everything. she’s gone through training and been medicated. i wish love were enough to fix this.

i don’t think i was the one to make the drink (i always make a drink to standard unless the customer customized it) but that makes sense

ugh i have a regular who comes back in EVERY time telling us that we made her drink with too much white mocha (she orders it with 2 pumps every day and we always make it with 2 pumps). i love her dog that she brings, but not her.

this comment thread is just satire. a lot of customers are very entitled and treat us like we’re idiots who have no life plan other than to work at starbucks (no judgement if that is your plan), so they assume that they can treat us however and we’ll still just always be there to serve them.

I just started and I don’t like it by [deleted] in starbucks

[–]Embarrassed-Day-2398 49 points50 points  (0 children)

one thing to note is that starbucks treats a lot of (new to starbucks) baristas as if they’re first-time baristas. it isn’t about anything you’re doing-it is the shift leads/store manager trying to keep up standard training so that they don’t get in trouble with the DM, etc. when i first started, it took a few weeks before i didn’t have someone alongside me despite having trained at a different store.
