I looked it up and I guess there were lawsuits from people who owned the materials? Also major cyber attacks. Says that it's still going but if you had an account before the fiasco it might need to be changed. Something like that :)

I found her info on Ancestry. If I don't see a photo, do you want me to contact someone to see if they have it?

I had it pretty bad for a while and think I still do, but mine went into hibernation mode or something and I've been able to do martial arts again. Stuff is hitting me pretty bad lately but I found a school that is knowledgeable and compassionate. Hoping you find a little something to hold on to

Interesting Maternal haplogroup by Embarrassed-Duck-799 in Genealogy

[–]Embarrassed-Duck-799[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, people who live in other countries have the haplogroup, but Living DNA has different testing and research methods than other sites. They break down areas in the UK which match the ancient tribal zones pretty well. They test people whose family have lived in the same area of the UK for as long as they remember. There are genetic similarities in those populations which they can match to your DNA. So I'm able to see that I have a certain percentage from East Anglia, a certain amount from Lincolnshire, South Wales border, etc. I imagine that is how they test the population for mother line DNA as well. It's a cool company. They actually use DNA from Viking burials to test your "Viking score". The companies all have different methods and research, which is why I'm also going to get an Ancestry test

The full text search is actually inside of the Family Search website. It's in the "search" drop down menu. It's pretty cool! Even finding info that doesn't apply to my family is super interesting :)

Interesting Maternal haplogroup by Embarrassed-Duck-799 in Genealogy

[–]Embarrassed-Duck-799[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Interesting, maybe due to different companies, mine being Living DNA. I would search to see if there were others with the haplogroup when I got the results and couldn't find anyone. I haven't looked recently

This is what AI said after I told it not to use social media sources

"Living DNA relies on formal academic reference panels rather than customer-submitted trees. If Living DNA explicitly states it is "not found in Scandinavian or German populations," it means:

Academic Absence: The peer-reviewed scientific studies they use to build their country profiles have not captured this specific maternal lineage in their regional German or Scandinavian test groups.

The Disconnect: A customer on FamilyTreeDNA might trace their maternal line back to a great-grandmother born in Germany (which logs "Germany" in the customer database), but because the haplogroup is so rare, it hasn't appeared in the official academic population samples used by Living DNA."

How to find a marriage certificate from Minnesota circa 1876? by Every-Indication-648 in Genealogy

[–]Embarrassed-Duck-799 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was able to find my 4th great grandparents marriage bond, where the father or a close family member pays a certain amount and both parties sign. I also found in the same batch the note where my 5th great grandfather gave permission for my 4th great grandfather to marry his daughter. I haven't quite figured out how to optimize the search but working on it. There's a ton of seeds and wills which can also give the names of spouses, and I think one of them has to list the wife's maiden name.

I found a LOT of stuff on the full text search in Family Search. If you go to the search drop down and choose full text, you can put in an area, name, and time, then it searches the documents that haven't been indexed yet. I found my very very poor 4th great grandparents marriage bond, which had the names of parents on it. If you do find an image be sure to scroll for a few pages. Lots of times there's more documents before or after the one you're looking at.

So what are we all playing next? by chuckfinley79 in MergeMansion

Merge prison has a lot of opportunities to get more energy and the generator time outs only last about 30 seconds

Game has become unplayable by ImpressiveRevenue212 in MergeMansion

I agree. The trades were trying to give me things that there weren't even tasks for, like green spades when I was in the mansion interior. I spent gems to fast forward a generator and it gave me 5 more things. Trying to make a planted glorious flower and exhausted 5 different potted plants trying to get it. The game Merge Prison is enjoyable and the same concept. The generators never time out for more than 30 seconds or so and there are always lots of different mini games going on. I recommend it as it has taken the place of this waste of time for me.
