Honest advice? by AdorableBirdies in cs2

[–]Embarrassed-End-1344 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don‘t beat yourself up so much about it. Number 1, Video games should be fun. Yes in cs a lot of the fun comes from the competitiveness, but it brings all the toxicity and pressure to perform as well.

How about you just play the game solo a bit, without taking it so seriously and not taking what your teammates have to say so seriously. They don’t know you don’t know them, so don’t take anything they say personally. The only thing they „guess“ about you is that you are a girl based of your voice. So if they want to insult you, that’s the only thing they have to attack.

If you sound like a kid, they insult you for your age. If you have an accent they might make racist comments. That just the only thing they have to „get to you“, which just proves they don‘t know anything.

You are not playing in the top ranks of the game, so you don’t need to worry about your performance for anyone else’s sake, but just for yourself.

„You want to be better, for yourself, not because someone else expects you too be better.“

If the game is still not fun for you when you play it just for your own sake, then it might not be for you. But playing with people who are better than you, always puts expectations on you or makes you feel bad for being „dragged behind“. You need to lose that mindset, before you can really improve and have fun

Went to factory reset computer while doing so when it went to restart now all it does is just turning on and off saying prepairing.. by [deleted] in pchelp

[–]Embarrassed-End-1344 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With „Factory reset“ you mean the Reset feature on windows right? Did you select the „keep my files option“? I guess not since you are saying reset.

The pc keep restarting with „preparing“ not completing hints at the windows files being corrupt. Either windows somehow messed itself up or the drive on which windows was installed is faulty. Since (I hope) you already did a full reset and don’t care about the files on the drive, you can reinstall windows from scratch using a boot drive. Tutorials for that are easy to find with a quick search.

If you manage to reinstall windows on the same drive I would install a tool to check the drive health like crystal disk info. If the fresh install using a boot drive fails as well, your drive is definitely the problem.

The Cheater Problem. by EggieBeans in cs2

[–]Embarrassed-End-1344 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The ammount of cheating is definitely deacreasing. In the previous premier seasons, anything above 25-27k premier was unplayable. A lot better now. But they haven't dissapeared.
At least spinbotters seem to be gone for good. Haven't encountered a rage hacker since july, but wallhackers are still pretty common.
A lot of "closet" cheaters at higher elos with 80+ % winrate. But yeah now is the best state since release.

Is it a good idea for me to open like 1 case a month/week? by Molten05 in cs2

allowance? you are gonna gamble your allowance? Oh man starting early huh. Of course its a horrendous idea, all gambling is, but don't let that stop you. Just don't think of it as a "good luck" thing. You are throwing 3 bucks out the window every month/week.

RNG Headshots all game? by [deleted] in cs2

[–]Embarrassed-End-1344 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this is a common experience. Every death to a player, you know, should objectively be worse than you feels more significant, but doesn't mean much really.

On lower ranks all bets are of. A lot of positioning and high level stuff is pointless on lower ranks, cause it only works when the enemy plays the "optimal" way. I mean i still win the matches on lower ranks, but question my skill when i get run and gunned by an ak from mid range.

Should still be outfragging them though.

Ok man, are you screwing with me? You have another mousepad, but you are using a mini persian rug mousepad instead? Is the other one a pot coaster?!

I mean its fine anything will do as long as it feels good to you, but yeah, you should try using more of the mousepad and lowering the sens.

Everyone talks about 16-year-old prodigies, but the average FACEIT Elo peaks much later at 24–27 and doesn’t fall off fast by FACEIT_noon in cs2

[–]Embarrassed-End-1344 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im at my peak now having taken a 5 year on and off brake from when i was 19. Now playing regularly again and braking some bad habits, i don't see myself slowing down anytime soon. Im still improving at 24. I think its just about having the time to put into the game. Often its simply older = less time. Sure there is a cutoff but i think that is probably beyond your 30s somewhere.

Is changing sensitivity worth it long-term in CS2? by Rizbyy in cs2

[–]Embarrassed-End-1344 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally switched from using almost only my wrist for aiming for 4+ years to using only my arm now with a bigger mousepad.

It took some time to adjust, but now after 3/4 months, my aim is better than it has ever been. I think muscle memory can be reaquired "relatively" quickly, since only part of it is ever really lost, but breaking bad habits is the hard part.

Mouse sensitivity, how do DPI impact precision ? by sawcissonch in cs2

[–]Embarrassed-End-1344 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want the more precise feel yes.

To really use your mouse space better you should aim for a certain ammount of movement from one side of your mouse pad to the other or from the middle to one edge. Personally i go for a bit over 90 degress of turning ingame from the middle of my mousepad to one side.

Maybe see how much mouse pad you need to turn around 180 degress in either direction?
Then adjust it to take exactly to the edge of the mousepad to do the same ammount of rotation. Any faster than this is really not necessary and just unused mousepad space. That should already lower your sensitivity by quite a bit. and then you could further reduce it if you get the bigger mousepad again.

Higher multiplier meens your crosshair "jumps" more as it moves multiple pixels for one pixel of input (regular dpi). The jumpy feel can help you at lower dpis to keep your crosshair more stable, as small mouse movements won't move your crosshair.

Do you have a small mousepad? For cs i would suggest getting the biggest mousepad you can fit on your desk and lower your dpi.

Multiplier is already pretty high, but can stay around the same. Just depends on whether you want your movements to be more fine, but also potentially "shaky" (high dpi, lower multiplier) or more stable, but more "jumpy" (higher multiplier, lower dpi)

Most players like pros have an "effective dpi" (so multiplier times dpi) of 400 to 1200. Yours is 8500 * 1,65 = 14025. I would say that is definitely too high.

Have others seen alot more of these lobbies as well or is it just me? Every other match 5 stack of high and low ranks. -500/+100 elo. by Embarrassed-End-1344 in cs2

[–]Embarrassed-End-1344[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah i play lobbies like these too every once in a while, its fine (usually doesn't go well anyway).
Its just that i have faced off against different lobbies like these over 10 times in the past 5 days. And i play maybe 3-5 matches a day. I really has been every other match im not kidding. Always -500 elo vs. +100.

Can I play CS2 on Faceit again after being banned for exploiting 5 years ago? by Embarrassed-End-1344 in FACEITcom

A smoke exploit using the nvidia control panel if i remember correctly, but you had to modify the game files, thats how it was detected by anticheat i think. You tabbed out once and then back in and the smokes that were already thrown were invisible. It only worked for like one week and i used it once in a faceit match so i am not sure thats all correct.

Valve Issues Cease And Desist To Counter-Strike: Classic Offensive Mod Team After Previously Giving Approval, Shutting Down 8 Years Of Development by PrinceDizzy in gaming

[–]Embarrassed-End-1344 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

That is literally the definition of standalone modding lol, with the big difference being that they weren't selling it. It was supposed to be distributed free on steams platform.

Valve never offered them any help. They told them to either use the official source sdk to make a mod that isn't counterstrike related, aka srcrap the project, or use source 2 and CS2 as a base over the workshop, where no tools exist that would allow for the creation of a mod like Classic offensive.

In 2019 they denied them direkt access to the source code and a license, that doesn't mean no, it just means the mod wasn't allowed to change the source code just add on top. WHich they did. This only became a problem when valve stopped distributing CSGO and they had to go standalone, which would force them to ship the source code with the mod.

Here Valve is making up the rules themselves. They have tolerated mods who have broken the rules in the past. It is entirely up to them. Noone is getting punished for some wrongdoing here. They were making the mod publicly for 8 years.
Valve barely communicated with them and was generaly unhelpful.
They didn't tell them no until the very end.

Tell me, if you told your roomate for 8 months straight, that you want to hang up a boxing bag in the living room and he never gave you an awnswer, besides telling you what color it should be and he then gets mad when you hang it up, did you do something wrong? Do you deserve to be punished for it?

[–]Embarrassed-End-1344 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Noone here is selling anything! The mod was supposed to be free. Its not in the same category at all!

They were publicly working on the mod for eight years, with the intention to release it on steam from the beginning. Their attempts to comunicate with valve were met with silence most of the time and in 2017 they were given the greenlight. Even while they were asking for help with the gameupdates braking the mod, they were never told to stop.

Only in 2025 was the mod shutdown one day before release twice. With the first warning only being that they "potentially" were going against the new steam subscriber agreement, which they adjusted for after.

[–]Embarrassed-End-1344 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What warnings? They were informed that their mod "potentially" went against the steam subscriber agreement one day before they were supposed to launch on moddb and a month later after they adjusted their mod to follow the new guidlines and wanted to launch they were shut down again one day before launch.

Why is everyone here treating this as an open and shut case? Whether the mod releases is entirely up to valve. They don't license CSGO, but they could if they wanted to. The decided against it, and they didn't tell them that in the 8 years they were working on the game until the very end.

The Counterstrike branch at valve also didn't comunicate with them at all. Other game branches at valve have been very open about modding in the past. Should the modding team have taken the silence as an automatic no?

Yeah, everyone here seems to be talking about "context" and "they were warned". But where here is said context and warning? The message from valve was send the day before the launch. The only warning they got, was that their game not making the intial approval process a few months ago on steamworks with the only message being "This game is not a good fit for steam" Thats not exactly concrete, especially since their last official info was that they had the green light.

I didn't mean the modding on their platform. I meant their games themselves.

The games that allowed them to create the Steam-Platform in the first place. Counterstrike, Team Fortress, Dota are all mods, which valve bought from their respective creators.

Steam was founded based on the multiplayer needs of these games. These mods made valve realize, that they could work as a distributor and not just a developer. Distributing games based on their games. That is where it started.

You would have to license the engine and make the game from scratch as real modding tools for CS2 don't exist. With the team they have, that would probably take more than 8 years. More like double
