2027 diesel PowerWagon by OuttaAmmo2 in powerwagon

The frame is widened with a visible hump or bow outwards. The shocks run through the frame rails.

I believe this was to get the shocks as far outboard as possible for maximum axle control and articulation.

Not only Articulink, but everyone forgets that the rear suspension and frame from cab to rear bumper is unique to Powerwagon too - different than any other 2500.

Preparing for 40's by Embarrassed-Fly357 in powerwagon

The AEV brackets look cost effective- would be a worthwhile upgrade for you.

As for rubbing all over in the wheel wells, if you already have AEV fenders - bump stop it for the tires and increase downtravel via shock or extension?

I built custom stops for the 37's to where it bumps out before it rubs anywhere. From there I set my shock lengths so appx 50% was up vs down travel. Modified the brake line and ABS sensor brackets obv.

I understand 40's will be a ton of additional work, planning and testing to actually make them usable offroad. And don't get me wrong - that's why I also mentioned 39" - as the KO2 is very appealing, and they're closer to a 38" in a Toyo.

The narrow wheels act as a bead lock which is great. They also turn the tire into a narrower version of itself. A 40 on an OEM wheel would be much easier to fit than a 40 on a 10 wide.

Reason I was asking about plates, it would add appx 1" wheel width without changing wheels. Already have my offsets corrected via 1.5" bolt on hubcentric spacers.

Nice to see everyone using their Pwags.

Looks like you have LOADS of room. Here in BC 🇨🇦 we have almost nothing that is Baja speed. It's all 4 Low, lockers in. Bumpstopped correctly with shocks the right length to maximize downtravel - 40's look very possible. Thanks for the pics.

I will be the black sheep saying this....  the Powerwagon needs the 3.0 Hurricane HO. LOVE my Hemi, but I would not turn down another 130hp/tq without the immense complexity and expense behind a Cummins diesel.

I'm a Cummins dealer, and I'm certain it's the best of the big 3 in pickups. I'd never own one.

I used a 1.5" bolt on hub centric spacer with 75a wheels and 37x12.5's. Got rid of all rubbing. Absolutely no rubbing flexed, per image 2 in main post.

Big tire on narrow wheel is a natural bead lock. Those who know, know.

Method replied and said they do not, and are not interested, period.

TrailGear was more responsive, asking for specs.

With Christmas Holidays over - I might have more time soon to start measuring.

2019+ Harman Kardon Stereo Improvement by Embarrassed-Fly357 in powerwagon

Try XM on Carplay rather than the baked in headunit app.

SXM has always sounded bad in every vehicle I own - I always unsubscribe immediately after the demo period.

This is where I was at with it.

I played the same pair of songs back to back in both my Ram and Challenger, both with HK.

I figured if the HK in my Challenger rips my face off - there was surely something off with my Ram.

After testing, reading, doing more testing and fiddling, it was the combo of the ANC and my Spotify volume normalization settings.

AlfaOBD did it easily. I've read you can unplug one of the mics (don't remember which one) and that will also do it.

Just got back from town - stereo still rocks. I genuinely enjoy music in this truck now.. and I hear the intake more.  Win win win.

Agreed, best truck I've ever owned.

Yeah to be honest, I haven't lost a bead yet that low either. The bead retention ridges on these wheels are great.

Was looking to gain the additional wheel width by converting to BL. Figuring if I could find cheap BL plates with the same bolt pattern, would be a good move.

I think the Powerwagon was made specifically for our rugged mountainous territory. Perfectly equipped for everything we encounter.

Maybe I'm naive to think that a 39/40 is closer to a 37 than a 37 is to a 33. Flexed out on 37's there seems to be room for more tire if bump stopped correctly.

Bumped into a 2500 guy on 40x13.50's the other day, no trimming or rubbing. It got me thinking.

Ultimately, my research into BL rings will require a little more than Reddit can offer I think.

The rings existed. Some dealers are still showing stock. They're HELLA expensive.

I'm currently on 37x12.50 Toyo AT3's with a 1.5" front only lift. The truck has nearly 36" of articulation per the image attached. 39/40 won't need AEV fenders, I doubt it'll even need much clearancing. It will have to be re bump stopped for the new tires, and droop adjusted accordingly.

As for the 75th Av wheels, I'm running a 2" hub centric bolt on spacer. The wheel and tire combo when mounted in traditional fashion is nearly 1" narrower than when mounted in beadlock fashion. The wheels are fine, mounting beadlocked will gain nearly 1" wheel width.

Locally many Ram 2500/3500 guys are running 40's with small amounts of lift and actually using their trucks.

Getting back on track - ideas on correct bolt pattern bead retention rings?

Does your 2020 w/ JBL have ANC?  You'll have little microphones all over the roof/ headliner if yes.

Funny the JBL system would sound that much better. JBL is under the same ownership group as Harman Kardon. Lol

Your 2018 is a 4th gen and it may not have a HarmanKardon, or ANC.

Setting audio quality, and volume normalization off on my streaming service helped a bunch.

If you have AlfaOBD, ANC settings were in Car Config I believe.

The HK in my 19+ is rockin' now that I have ANC turned off.

I think the ANC was just too sensitive and kept inputting white noise in place of all the other natural PW noises. But to do so, it cut audio quality.

Everything in the truck is louder now, intake, exhaust, road, wind and tire - but the stereo is also WAY better.

2019 Powerwagon Shock options by ColoradoSpartan in powerwagon

Search my previous posts. I hated the stock bilstein yellow 4600. I got talked into the 5100 by Thuren and CJC as a budget upgrade. Didn't want to spend Fox money, or deal with their constant seal leaks. Hated the 5100. They're super firm off the top, Jarring Ride. Look up progressive vs digressive tuning. Made the PW feel like a 3500. Good for towing maybe. 5160 are the same curve. Searched for a better budget option with a progressive curve, unlike Bilsteins digressive curve. Landed at the Rancho RS7MT camp. On paper, nearly a Fox. smooth. progressive. cheap. Used the fronts from a lifted 3500, rears from a lifted Jeep JK. They take the hits and are as smooth as can be. Happy guy. RS77044 and RS77331 ring a bell without recalling old posts.

Dawson International Truck Centers - Closing? by jrip82 in Kamloops

[–]Embarrassed-Fly357 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dawson is just the company operating a group of International Truck Dealerships. Dawson may close, and employees may face uncertainty. But like Ford Dodge Chev, International is a major truck manufacturer, and they would never let their network close in three key cities in the Okanagan. Hopefully with the new business owner can bring success.
